Follow my trades, I have free items too.
Some changes just makes me think, that Devs themselfs not playing the game enough or not for fun.
First they made Echoin Strike a pure Caster and the hole Skilltree irrelevant, cause of the overlapping synergy with Hex Purge and Mirrored Blades. And now it makes less sense to go for hunt and max Bind Demon/15 Hp demon anymore. Further i dont like the gheeds sunder changes. Once again, just over the top. Now i m gonna get dozens of gheeds which i dont need. Found 2 in max 3 hours, one from Andy and one from cows.

first impressions regarding the shards, heralds and statues
1) you get ~4 shards per full act. more than enough for self-sustained Herald hunting, not enough for boss cherry picking. feels like the right middle Ground
2) heralds' drops improved, but nothing crazy. could be better considering the high risk they pose
3) haven't killed many act bosses, out of maybe ten one statue so far. trading value of statues and good stones should increase. also feels like a step in the right direction

(Also haven't killed many bosses yet) but the colossal jewels were just too cheap to feel satisfying to farm imo. Hope prices rise a bit

Haven't seen any unique grand charms since the patch. I agree that once you get a Gheed's Fortune for your build the excitement is lower
But for me coming from last ladder, i'm still haunted by the prices

Indeed. Easier to just change the number than fix the bug.FerociousTerrier wrote: 23 hours agoAh, so instead of fixing rhe way their damage is calculated, they just dropped the flat damage value?Teebling wrote: 1 day agoBlizzard wrote: Fixed an issue where Bind Demon's additional damage bonus was greater than intended. So yeah it's a cut in relative terms, but was unintentionally high in the first place![]()
That's... Lazy? Wouldn't it be nicer to have an accurate calculation of damage so you could see what damage your demon actually does?
What was the bug and how much higher was damage than what was listed? I never tested, but it felt like my demon was doing similar damage to what was listed. I just had 1 point in Bind Demon, which I think resulted in around 700-800 damage before multipliers, and multiplier was around 700% or so between Demonic Mastery and Bind Demon, so I think like 4-6k damage. Seemed like she took low health enemies out usually in one hit, and higher health monsters would take a couple hits. Felt about inline with the damage listed.
At level 56, bonus damage is 1425, used to be 3532. About 40% of the value (my 1/3 appears slightly exaggerated).varangium wrote: 2 hours agoIndeed. Easier to just change the number than fix the bug.

From Pavke’s article on Bind Demon bugs:
https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/commen ... is_bugged/
- Item_normaldamage (flat damage bonus) - the biggest problem here. The flat damage bonus formula uses parameters intended for bind chance: Param3Description=”Growthrate/start for % capture referenced in monpet.txt” Param4Description=” Cap for % capture referenced in monpet.txt”. Those parameters are indeed used for bind chance calculations, but they are also used here for flat damage bonus to bound demons. This results in a much much higher flat damage bonus than what it is “intended”. Intended in quotation marks because we don’t know what is intended. This stat has been bugged since RoTW came out. It is only now more noticeable in Patch 3.2 because they changed the bind chance values and thus unintentionally changed/increased the flat damage bonus. My guess is that Param1 and Param2 were meant for flat damage bonus, but those parameters are empty. Level 40 Bind Demon gives 2508 flat damage bonus. For comparison, level 45 Goatman gets 79 flat damage bonus

My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

Ok thanks, so it sounds to me like the listed bonus was the actual bonus, just the listed (and actual) bonus used parameters intended for the bind chance and the parameter spots presumably meant to be used for the damage bonus were left empty.ShadowHeart wrote: 1 hour agoFrom Pavke’s article on Bind Demon bugs:

That would then mean the listed stats are reliable, and also would align with my subjective assessment that the listed damage felt in line with what I was seeing in the field.
What in the world just happened? Did you just take Colossal ancients wearing only an ammy? My level 50+ Bind Demons gets hammered by ancients if I'm not careful.
It shows them taking off all their gear so presumably the bind was a high level @ game startFerociousTerrier wrote: 1 hour agoWhat in the world just happened? Did you just take Colossal ancients wearing only an ammy? My level 50+ Bind Demons gets hammered by ancients if I'm not careful.
It's not too surprising for me, ancients were really quick for my Bind Demon warlock as soon as Amplify Damage procced. The issue was survivability for me, you can see how much damage she takes in one hit from Talic, i definitely don't think she would survive his tornadoes, so i don't think it would be realistic to actually repeatedly farm ancients with
Lightning + cold enchanted demon with Flickering Flame aura was the only way i could get my demon to reliably survive. Key word reliably, bc like the video shows if you can get the curse proc fast and ur damage is high enough u can kill them before they can even threaten ur bind with spells

Perhaps hitting them fast and hard is the way. Once I hit 98, I am respeccing to full Bind Demon + Mirrored Blades Witchwild Strings (or maybe Mist demon xbow), idea being able to quickly proc Amp Damage from my MBs and let the demon go to town. That also frees up the Cursed affix for me, allowing an extra survivability affix. My current Lancer is cold and lightning immune with Stone skin, which I think really helps with her survivability.kerph wrote: 53 minutes agoIt shows them taking off all their gear so presumably the bind was a high level @ game startFerociousTerrier wrote: 1 hour agoWhat in the world just happened? For me, fast and hard (as in ignoring survivability) worked great, until the run when Talic decides to cast one too many tornadoes in a row and it doesn't...Which is why i'm such a broken record now on needing a tri-immune demonFerociousTerrier wrote: 38 minutes ago

I think ur demon would do great, even with The Reaper's Toll or Dreadfang on merc (since i think you mentioned she's not cursed)
Too bad you'll lose her in the respec

You notice that in original D2 and LoD the devs made a game that they wanted to play themselves.Bertram The Cursed wrote: 4 hours agoSome changes just makes me think, that Devs themselfs not playing the game enough or not for fun.

In RotW you notice that the devs just code what they are told and the PMs tell them to code what they believe makes blizzard the most money.
Makes me a sad panda.
Playing HC SSF right now.

Just dopped my first Gheed's Fortune and can confirm that they are indeed still in the gameShadowHeart wrote: 11 hours ago@Pavke has checked the game files and patch 3.3 increased the rarity of Gheed's Fortune from 1 to 15. So, before, all unique grand charms had rarity = 1 meaning equal chance of dropping, meaning 1/7 unique grand charms were Gheed's, 6/7 were sunders. Starting with patch 3.3, 15/21 unique grand charms will be Gheed's, 6/21 will be sunders (evenly distributed).
(this is for drops via the regular drop tables where MF matters, not the specific Herald drops)
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)
