About diablo2.io
What is diablo2.io?
Database
Diablo2.io is a searchable & filterable item database that accounts for every item and entity in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Items and database entries are interlinked if they are related to each other. Each item, recipe, monster, npc, quest, area, and skill in the game has it's own page and hover tooltip when mentioned anywhere on the site. Items and other database entries can be searched for directly, filtered from an array of options, sorted by argument, or browsed by category. Check out the database.
Marketplace
Diablo2.io is the most popular market for bartering in-game Diablo 2 Resurrected items and services without the use of fixed currency. Items can be listed for trade, viewed in your trade stash, modified with filter options, accompanied by screenshots, searched for by keyword or filter, and have an array of trading tools that help make the process of bartering on the market easier and faster. Trading on diablo2.io is strictly limited to non-RMT/non-3rd party currency exchanges. Check out the marketplace.
Community
Diablo2.io is home to an active forum D2 community with most discussion revolving around in-game mechanics, theorycrafting, builds, guides, modding/tech-related, and trading-related Diablo 2 Resurrected topics. Forum tools such as drafts, bookmarking, advanced formatting, saving posts, liking posts, post revisions etc make it a great place for long-form write-ups and discussion. As well as posting, the community maintain tools like the diablo clone tracker. Check out the discussion forums.
Are there any plans for further development?
Yes, but no additional major features are being added from here on. The site has come a long way since the start, and I don't want it to suffer from 'feature rot' where I try to do too many things at the same time.
I will continue improving the Database, Trade, and Forum features as time goes on, and keep it to these 3 main things. Check out the continuous development log for the latest updates and fixes.
How was the site built? What did you use?
If you're interested in the tools, programs, resources, and other building blocks that I used, then head on over to Credits where I provide sources.
The site is built with a mix of HTML, CSS, jQuery/vanilla JS and finally PHP on a LAMP stack. phpBB performs a lot of the heavy lifting back-end, with deep modifications to the core and extensions. I designed and coded the GUI/UX myself, using a mix of my own original art as well as adapted in-game art and graphics.
Is there anything I can do to help contribute to the site?
If you're interested in contributing to the project with your own skills and knowledge, please visit this topic.
I have detailed the numerous ways in which you can help the site grow and develop. You don't need technical or artistic skills to make a massive difference to the site's content and feature set - all that is required is enthusiasm for the game.
I hope that you enjoy using diablo2.io. If you have any comments or suggestions, you can post in the Site Feedback forum. Cheers!
