Got another Q here for the more experienced players...
I've got IK full set. Am starting Act II Hell difficulty - Using Barb Whirlwind build.
What two socketable items are BEST to place in the Immortal King's Stone Crusher (it has only 2 sockets).
should I go IAS... with Shael Runes (is there a IAS limit for this weapon)?
or
the life / mana leech runs?
or
2 x Perfect Skulls?
or
increased damage items to socket?
I'm swamped with confusion!

I'd read/skim these old forum topics. They will probably answer all your Immortal Kings questions.

please translate, lol.
See the
Ias x fpa table
Fpa = frames per attack (the lower the value, faster you attack)
Ias = how much ias on all your equipment need to reach a specific FPA
So in your case using Whirlwind and using complete Immortal King, with no extra ias, you will have 65 ias (40 from weapon and 25 from gloves)
This gives you 6 fpa (58 ias breakpoint)
You need more 60 to reach the next breakpoint (125 ias 5 fpa)
You can reach it with 2 Shael and a Highlord's Wrath.
You do not gain extra speed until you reach 125 ias total. So put 2 Shael without another source of 20 ias in this case would be useless ...
If you have some skill that increase IAS, like Frenzy, Burst of Speed - from Hustle or Fanaticism - from Faith - the table changes as IAS from skills is better (do not have diminishing returns)
Ex: with 5 level of Frenzy, you have 5 fpa with only 52 ias.
(You may test those things in the link)

OK I see, thanks for explaining. I have 2 x Shael , but not the Highlord's Wrath.Gungula777 wrote: 1 month agofredkid wrote: 1 month ago About IAS you may see here

what other options would you reccomend in this case?
Is IAS better than ED for this weapon?
Depends... a huge increase in damage will be better than a small increase in speed and vice versa...
Speed have the breakpoint problem (extra ias is useless if you not reach another breakpoint...)
The best thing is use some calculator to know if equipA or equipB is better to you.
I use a lot this.
https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/
But it has a known issue that it do not calculate 100% correctly the attacks per second of Strafe and Whirlwind...
But can help at least you figure out your real "single attack" damage and "hit chance".
And then, you use the correct attack speed to compare.
Obs: in D2R 1 second = 25 frames so 5 FPA is 5 attacks per second for example.

I agree with Fredkid. 6 frame Whirlwind is about 4 attacks per second, and 5 frame Whirlwind is 5 attacks per second. That's a big increase in damage per second, more crushing blow per second, and more frequent life and mana leech
For the additional 20 ias, the two options I can think of are cat's eye amulet or (two) 15 ias jewels in your Helm and armor. When you eventually get a highlord's, that's the best option though
