Before RotW, I usually created open online games (so other player could join, each could farm on their own, and we gain the players N bonus - and if the other player insisted on farm the same area, I could just create a new game
Now with Hearlds and Shard on RotW, create an "open", seems a bit risky...
Like, the Herald might spawn because of you, but closer to the other player
And with shard, you can't simply create a new game if another player starts farming in the areas you want....
So it's harder to farm players N without a prior agreement with other players
