I needed help from one of the fine people here (I won't mention names under they are happy with it, I wouldn't want them from inundated with messages! 😂).

So long as it isn't in a sticky that still gets me spammed years later, you're welcome to mention my name. :P
Appreciate the foresight though!

Next time, we'll just throw in an extra portion of luck for you as well so it actually ends up a lock torch. ;)

That's the other one I don't really play! 😂 Cheers for the offer though.

Assassin, druid and barb. Not really played them since 1.09.

My experience as an Uber farmer by day, crime fighter by night;

I save up keys, I find items to trade for keys, trade for 3x3 sets or individual keys. Point is to have multiple organs to eventually run through. RNG being RNG, if you do only 3-5 Ubers the odds are you wont get the torch you want. This last run I did I actually wanted a Warlock torch for a new ES Warlock (I gave up on ladder so made a NL).

Out of 28 Uber runs, only 3x were Warlock. Some time ago I was hoping for an Amazon, did 15 and only got 1x torch (thats all I needed though).
  • Watch some of the videos on Youtube, the general tactic is to follow a set path to draw Meph out and to only take Meph down alone. With a Pally with full resists Meph can still be tough.
  • Having Uber health is ideal; Barb BO or CTA at least.
  • After Meph, follow the path to try draw
    Baal
out. All 3x have summons, but only one has summons that are immune to physical. If you take down
    Baal
, you can run a path to get away from any remaining sumons to go after D. Diablo's summons are made of glass if you are Pally/Warlock ES.
  • Tough thing about a Warlock, if you die you lose the binded demon. I found this experience to be frustrating when doing Uber Ancients. I had to go to Throne room to grab new Wave 5 minions. Toughest part is that your demon can take on the Uber and the Ubers attention will in turn be on your demon. But the spawned minions will go after you. Merc + 2 additional spawns from you helps, but be prepared to be shooting them as well as you might need to gain back some life.
  • Do not hesitate for a second to ask for help, there are so many that will be willing to jump in for the fun & challenge. As the keys or statues take effort and time, this is an activity one can not do too often. So there are many (like myself) that would love every opportunity to help out when called. I like many would love the opportunity to whack Meph around some.
Personally found that Uber Meph is really the only true challenge. The
Conviction
& light is devastating.

I did use my ES Warlock (after I got a torch from Ubers) to try Uber Ancients, and well it was only so-so. Yes the Warlock is "OP" in some areas, but it really is not in others. I did about 8 of the Ancients and used my Pally for 4. Did better with Pally Smiter/Zealer than ES.
Izual
mini-Uber took down my Warlock in 1 shot. For mini-Ubers, Uber Trist, and Ancients I found the Pally to just have better overall survivability & killing power. Part of that is the gearing, Dracs vs
Magefist
lol. Exile or HOZ vs Warlock book. The
Key
really was the multiple gear items for the Pally all help with resists, where lot of the gear for the Warlock did not. While I could gear up the Warlock similar, I ended up still subpar to the Pally. Now this is just me, my playstyle, and I am sure others can make significantly better ES Warlock than I ever could.

Yeah, that's a good mention.
When i run Ubers with ES Lock I also use Dracs just like Paladin (and try to maximize life leech on items where i can), because 75 fcr is enough there and it's easy to get with Vipermagi (
Um
) + Spirit + Arach.
And speaking of Spirit: I consider it better than unique book for ES Warlock overall and use it everywhere. Especially 35fcr roll gives a lot of room for many different gear setups.

Add to that any res and/or life charms (i mean really anything) and you get easy 3k+ life after BO and
Consume
with 50%+ damage redirected to your demon. You're close to immortal.

In response..
Lightning Bolt
you to the face!
2026: Show me your Hephasto and I'll tell what kind of man you are.

Congrats on the set, and killer timing on the thread - i just got my 3x3 and am in a similar position, though worked on resistances tonight and made a Treachery also (feels weird to stand in a fire to proc it).

My damage is at 46k before Might merc aura kicks in, plus I have big boy Heph with cursed and
Fanaticism
, so damage output feels okay. Only at 75% frame
Cap
whilst maxed with res, but I have a
Raven Frost
and a carrion wing to switch and a whole bunch of life and mana leech.

I found a rare
Throwing Knife
with 50 odd charges of lvl5
Life Tap
on it, so i feel covered on that front, and naj's staff for better/no delay
Teleport
. Got some options for open wounds.

After reading all the advice above, i'm definitely gonna give the mini ubers a go tomorrow.

Good luck and report back on how you get on, Phreeks!
With your level of dps, you don't need to use
Life Tap
or open wounds etc at all. Just shoot ES at them. Any mini uber and individual final ubers should die within ~15 seconds, if not even quicker. That's just how OP the ES Warlock build is. =)
Thanks, that's real good to know! I did totally nuke Uber diablo in under 3 seconds, which was a wild and confusing way to get an Anni, and left me thinking what 3x3 would be like.

Uber Izual and
Baal
can use something similar to Sorc
Chilling Armor
, with the effect of "Confers a defense bonus and launches an
Ice Bolt
against ranged attackers. "

I've never verified the data myself, but some sources say each
Ice Bolt
can deal ~300 cold damage. When using
Echoing Strike
, the first 5 strikes always hit, then when they return, let's say 3 out of 5 strikes hit again, so that's 8 hits per cast, resulting 8 Ice
Bolts
. If your bound demon or merc weren't there to block out those
Bolts
and you took them all, then that would easily be 300 x 8 = ~2400 cold damage from one round a
Echoing Strike
.

Let's say you are at the 75 FCR breakpoint, then that's 2.5 casts per second, which means each second you could trigger 2400 x 2.5 = ~6k cold damage. If you have 75% Cold resistance, then you will take ~1.5k damage. When not paying attention, within two seconds your HP could already hit the red line.

This is why we use
Raven Frost
or
Snowclash
.

Using
Snowclash
as an example. When you equip it and max out your cold resistance to 90%, an
Ice Bolt
now only deals ~30 cold damage. Once you've lost some HP, during the next round of cold damage, the +15 cold absorb from the
Belt
kicks in first, which basically cancels out any damage from the cold
Bolts
, and you won't feel a thing ever again.

It's enough to very easily kill you if you're a Smiter wearing Principle armour (100% CTC
Holy Bolt
on strike) or even LoH. Lost two HC paladins to
Uber Baal
because of this oversight.

That's tough. =(

Most smiters are at 4f speed, so that would be 6 rounds of
Ice Bolt
per second. Not as bad as the ~20
Bolts
per sec ES Warlocks are facing, but they sure could still cause quite some hurt if not properly resisted/absorbed.
