Auras, enchant and ranged damage

Hey! Hope this finds everyone well

I have some doubts regarding

Enchant, aura damage and ranged attacks. I'm thinking about this crazy sorceress build using

Enchant + Dual Dream to deliver insane amounts of fire and shock damage.

First one: does aura damage (e.g.

Holy Shock from dual Dream) and

Enchant fire damage stacks?

Second one: does aura damage (same as above, dual Dream) apllies to ranged weapons?

The scenario:

Warmth
20

Enchant
20

Fire Mastery
20

Lightning Mastery

Then i go around using

Demon Machine

Crossbow firing enchanted explosive

Arrows with lightning damage as well. Would that be a thing?

Demon Machine with one hand.

Yes, to all your questions. No, it's not worth it to do any concessions whatsoever to add lightning damage into the mix (and losing Flickering Flame in the process for a lvl15

Holy Shock and bricked 20 skill points in light mastery).

Pure fire is all you need for ~17k fire damage bolts. 23-24k, if min/maxing. You can check demon machine's page. The info is right there.

I use this build, it's awesome.

But if you use Dream, you lose a lot of damage, and your aura radius is also lower.

Just use dual Dream for Normal/Nightmare difficulty.

P.S. you must to use Infinity on the mercenary, and

Static Field against immune monsters.

Crossbow with only one hand!

I could go melee though. Its not worth it even for melee builds?

The main feature of this build is 99%

Pierce. The denser the crowd, the more damage due to the many explosions.

P.S.

Enchant is not a passive skill. To have to apply it on yourself to see the full damage.

maxroll doesn't show the correct damage with ranged weapons, instead it behaves the same as pre-2.6 patch. Swap to melee weapon to see what fire damage you'd deal and add that to your ranged weapon. Above is

Demon Machine, below is CtA on swap. The fire damage below is what you'd be doing per hit with x-bow. That is, in this case, ~24k per hit + ~24k per explosion, before resists. Melee dual Dream sorc is perfectly serviceable. Can

Teleport around, uses

Crescent Moon or Passion for

Zeal. Deals 100-60k per hit in melee, some 10-1600 per aura pulse. Both before resists.

Infinity + Flickering Flame

or

Infinity +

Crescent Moon

or

Infinity + Passion + x3 -5/+X facets

All against non-immune monsters.

Zeal Sorc on P8 is not as strong and interesting as BowEnchantSorc.

Unfortunately, both Dream and Dragon need a shield (and the latter also a weapon - Hand of Justice) for their auras to have meaningful damage. So you either go ranged without auras or melee with.

Speaking of melee, there are 2 main builds:

Zeal (with Passion) or

Werebear (with Beast). Since both use weapons, they are more suitable for

Holy Shock rather than

Holy Fire. The damage is insane (>100k DPS), but you lose both ranged and AoE attack.

According to this post, at least the guides were updated (not necessarily the calculator).

Not sure they'll change anything on the calculator, reported a simple bug a few months ago (full Nat set provides 50 all + 20 poison res instead of only 50 all), even had Macrobioboi confirming the bug... and it still is present.
Had a bad surprise of missing 20-ish pres in hell with my full build and took a while to figure out why.

Bought a

Demon Machine yesterday and leveled up to level 18, got my first point in

Enchant.

The quest has just started. I will keep you up to date as i progress. Fireee!

Dream is quiet effective when you use the Bear Sorceress build wielding the Beast runeword. It's squishy, tho but much fun to play, at least when i tried it in SP
