Although Pride's damage is quite mediocre, considering the rarity of runes required to create it, the

Concentration aura makes up for it somewhat.

For physically attacking characters, using a Desert Guard mercenary with this weapon can increase their damage quite a bit. This runeword is particularly useful for characters that use many minions, such as a summon-based necromancer or druid, as the aura benefits the entire party.

As of Patch 2.4, Pride can also be built in any Spear, including Amazon Spears.

Tested this recipe in

Eth

Giant Thresher for merc of my offline skeletal-novamancer. Disappointed in this thing heavily - yes, skeletons get conc aura, but merc replaces your curses with this blindin attack and freeze effect shatters mobs you need to raise for your army. Besides, low damage of merc himself, even combined with might... Insight works much better and stable - until you got Infinity for your CE's, which is a top combo.
But perhaps Pride is an option for creatin high/maxed

Iron Golem - assumin you control it properly and don't let any mobs break it. In that case - probably Pride is an option. Otherwise...

Pride is also a viable option to support Uber

Smite/Zealer and Zealer Paladins in general.

With Last Wish + Exile +

Holy Freeze Merc with this weapon you have 5 Auras working together ( including

Fanaticism ). It is obviously and overkill but if you want to min/max your uber paladin ( using items like

Guardian Angel + something for the resists ) this is the weapon of choice.

A slvl 16

Concentration aura will provide +285% off-weapon enchanced damage in a 30.6 yard radius. At slvl 20, these values are increased to +345% in a 36 yard radius. In either case, affected units will have a 20% chance for their attacks to be uninterruptible.

A slvl 17

Fire Wall will be 26 yards long, will persist for 3.6 seconds, and will deal 989-1012 fire damage per second to targets within its area.
