Pride Runeword base: Eth mancacther vs eth thresher

Have most of the runes except Cham for Pride, been waiting for a good base. Found this 40s ethereal Mancatcher recently, should work for Pride, but would this base be worth making Pride in? Would waiting for a 4os Eth Thresher be better? What would the advantages of another base be over the Mancatcher?

Also, would it be better value to trade for a Pride? I have Sur and Lo and Io runes, just need a base and Cham.

Mostly considering this weapon for a2 merc with bowazon, Frenzy barb and Fury druid builds. Already have Infinity for my necromancer.

UPDATE: finally traded for a Cham rune and pulled the trigger. Rolled 19 Concentration aura (phew! ) and 265% AR bonus.

TL;DR Eth Mancatcher is the best base for Pride. By a tiny margin that might as well not matter. Mancatcher, however, is worth a fraction of what Thresher or Giant Thresher are worth.

I'm not going to bother with a wall of text here. It would just tell you Mancatcher is the fastest base and lowest damage. With or without andariels's visage, with or without 15IAS jewel in it, Mancatcher will just barely eke out in both the Spear and polearm competition.

If you like a bit if the gamble and can live with lv16 aura, make your own. Myself I'd always trade for one instead.

Yes, for one, you can make Insight inside. Secondly, Infinity is better in the mentioned polearms over Mancatcher. Mancatcher would be a tad bit better against bosses like Baal or DClone. T or GT for literally anything else. You have to consider life leech too which is better with higher damage weapons. Again, T and GT wins.

No, a Pride in Mancatcher will be worth just as much as any other base, if you roll well, which brings me to the last point.
Roll 16-17 Concentration and you lost value. Roll 18 to maybe break even, if you find a buyer; 19 for extra little gain; 20 to double your investment.

If you roll poorly the base used will be more pronounced in value. GT at lv18 will be worth more than lv18 CA.
If you roll rock bottom you'll wish you had used a cheaper base.

I always heard Mancatcher Infinity was best due to speed increasing more crushing blows? I guess your comment about D clone/bosses means that really only applies to bosses and not regular monsters.

Should I maybe just make an Insight out of my Mancatcher?

Sounds like Pride is a big gamble for not a ton of value. In your opinion, is there a noticeable difference between lvl 16 conc and lvl 20? The graph says its kinda big actually. What should I pay for a level 18 one ballpark?

Applies to both, is not noticeable in regular enemies as they will die quickly anyway, CB or not CB.

Not at all, for gaming purposes you won't notice a difference. Only matters to min/maxers and hurts resale value. Pay whatever you think is fair, or less than what you think is fair, and hope the other side accepts. There's no general advice to that question.
