Pride merc travincal build

Currently i am using

Eth

Guardian Angel and

Eth

Crown of Thieves. He is dying there from time to time because of two reason, he is either frozen or dies to hydras cos

Conviction aura. I would like to socket these items with

Ral and

Cham. But where to put

Cham?

Guardian Angel or

Crown of Thieves? What will be better for future sell of these items? Or any other build ideas for merc with Pride in

Travincal?

Use

Kira's Guardian and a

The Reaper's Toll instead. That's the Merc build for serious Trav farming. You can also

Um the

Guardian Angel, or the

Kira's Guardian, if you want to.

Instead of using the

Cham, why not

Kira's Guardian ?

That helmet will max out the

Guardian Angel your merc has and give the "Cannot be Frozen" property. Its what I use, and with the exception of very strong

Conviction, my merc does not die.

The problem with Kira is that it has no lifesteal. I would be completely without lifesteal. And i cant socket lfesteal to armor.

What weapon is your merc wearing?

Pride runeword in

Eth

Thresher

The reason that combo is suggested is because it works.

To answer your original question, If you socket a

Cham into either of the items as you suggested, it won't make them trade for more. The Rune would be wasted. People would want an

Um in the

Guardian Angel, and they would probably want a

Ral or a IAS/Fire Res Jewel in the

Crown of Thieves.

Heh, you should swallow a bit of your Pride (heh) and accept this free gift:

Kira + Guardian + Reaper is a nice cheap way to go through hell for your merc - especially when it comes to withstand elemental-attacking mobs. And Pride runeword is costly and questionable for its price, I personally restrain myself from spending resources there.
When you're rich enough - merc switches to Infinity + Treachery + Andy

Mask with

Ral/proper jewel.

I'm considering a

Cham in my

Crown of Thieves too. In my case, it's for a gold find barb who pretty much just runs trav.

I'm using

Eth reapers, Fortitude, and

Crown of Thieves. I tank for my merc and he rarely dies, has max resists at 75, and kills quickly on top of that. If he starts taking too much damage, I pop into the door to Durance for a second and then pop back out to reposition.

I'd like to have the cannot be frozen, but to be honest, I haven't had a lot of issues with him getting frozen with this build so I may add an ias jewel or something, still not sure.

Either way, positioning is

Key so either

Teleport or pop into Durance to get the merc positioned better and you should be alright.

I want it for gold find build too, for my Zealot so i tank too, i use popping into durance too, but still he sometimes die. I can see that he is barely moving due to being frozen and thats the case when he is taking the most damage cos he cant properly life leech. I will play a bit more with the build before socketting

Cham. Nice thing about Pride is that it gives me back damage i lose in order to wear gold find items.

But i got the answer,

Cham will be free when selling these items.

I added a

Cham to my gold find merc's

Crown of Thieves and haven't regretted it for a second.

He never dies anyways. Never even comes close for that matter. That part is easy enough to achieve, nearly independent of his own gear.

The only real concern was maximizing efficiency (kill speed vs. added gold find) and for that, the fact that he occasionally still got frozen added up to quite a bit of time wasted.

Cham beats the extra

The only thing wrong with the entire build rly is the fact that I haven't yet found a better weapon than

The Reaper's Toll for him to be able to deal with phys immunes without losing too much time...man I wish that thing didn't have cold damage on it...and the thing is, I distinctly remember having had a better solution back in the day. I just can't bloody remember what it was.

Thats what i will do too, socketing it into CoT seems better than

Guardian Angel.

In my case i am wearing gold find gear and when Pride merc is there i think i found efficient combo. I am able to clear

Travincal and filter loot on average 30 seconds, which is cooldown to create new server.

My merc never dies: Reaper’s Toll [Amn], Treachery, and Vamp Gaze [Cham]. MDR on gaze helps tremendously against hydras.

I use

Decoy on hydras too but it’s hard to pull off consistently. I do WSK and when

Fade procs on merc, then if I end up near WP again during the run, I hit trav before returning to WSK. It just works! Especially since my

Freezing Arrow disables many nasty things, and his decrep disables the rest.

Decrepify is so OP honestly for any dual leech build such as this, since that extra damage keeps both orbs full against uniques and champ packs. It dominates tough packs!

I highly recommend this setup with vamp gaze for trav or WSK!
