Long story short:
- give Merc max Fire Resist and life steal
- and more important, you, not the Merc, must be the one to kill the council, and as fast as possible.
Time Zone: GMT-3
Non-Ladder | Softcore | Expansion
I know this isn't 100% relevant to the topic, but I gave my Frenzy barbarian an Act 1 Rogue Archer merc, slapped a HustleMatriarchal Bow, Guardian Angel and Kira's Guardian on her, and so far she's basically immortal in Travincal, she can stand in the middle of any number of Hydras and her life barely moves. And well, that's also cause I have Dracul's Grasp and proc Life Tap for her, and she's firing pretty fast The only time I need to watch her HP is if one of the council members have Conviction, really.
I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
I mean... I feel like I'm chugging pots only 10% of the time when playing and the other 90% is just giving them to Merc and that's like a normal thing for me so I don't really see an issue here. HOWEVER, if you want some middle-ground with the fact that you said you lack LL (life leech) and don't want to help Merc by actually killing stuff just doing the lazy strat, you can always shop for a Life TapWand and help him survive that way. Correct me if I'm wrong but with at least some GF (gold find) Barb [not even fully into GF) you can easily outfarm the costs of LT Wand re-charge.
P.S. I also vaguely remember something about being a 'bug' where you could tp after all Hydras are spawned and when you go back in they won't spawn them back again same as what's happening with Baal's tentacle thingies, but dunno if that was fixed or how far you need to open tp from the orb room...
Ma neeeeeeema veeeeeeeze! xd
Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."
