It was a stock screenshot. I certainly didnt have one of my actual equipment. I thought the person who replied was not aware of what the Dream runeword provided, so I posted it as an example.oOKIWIOo wrote: 2 days agoThe screenshot you posted is definitely not your shield. I checked it with google picture search and you can find it e.g. here:

EDIT: Your buy history says that you bought a Dream Shild ( Sacred Targe) and a Dream Helm ( Bone Visage) four days ago each for 3 Jah. Why did you post this Screenshot?

Yes, the post is venting frustration, as I didn't even realize that this scenario and losing a near priceless item could even take place. I do have a WW barb that is, at best, only moderately effective at the moment. And only a "backup". I was building the Dream Paladin to be my primary, and most powerful character to explore the upper levels of the game, as I find that content, and the drops, far more interesting.Knappogue wrote: 2 days agoDon't you also have that WW barb with the new Grief?Slapshot wrote: 2 days ago...maybe it's just time to walk away. And just as I was really getting to the point where I could play at a very high level and really enjoy the game.
Hopefully you are posting this to vent frustration and not fishing for freebies...
Much as I get the venting, just chalk it up as a lesson learned.
Or two lessons if we're being completely honest as looking at those trades, you seem to have overpaid quite massively on those dreams. Getting a new shield of the same roll/quality level you had shouldn't cost you another 3 Jah but either a little over 1 Jah to roll it yourself or less than a Jah for a comparable roll result.
Until then, annoying as it may be, you can still run him as a zealer and get by just fine with one. Especially if you lend him your barb's Grief.
But yeah, NEVER equip even a single piece of gear when you're trying to do a corpse run. And that includes grabbing anything off the Ground as it'll typically auto-equip. Either get to your corpse naked or simply quit and rejoin to get your gear back that way.

And IF you recover your corpse in the same game, always check twice with the map that your corpse really disappeared after clicking your body. As Schnorki said, it can always happen that you accidently equip an item without noticeing.
For my Sorc I have a complete second gear set in my stash for such situations. When I have cleared the area around my corpse, I go back to town and check twice if I put everything back in my stash (especially second gear slot), then go back, then click the corpse and then check with the map again

Chin up! You can pass over this, I'm sure.Slapshot wrote: 2 days agoI am literally so disheartened that I'm not sure I can pick up the pieces and keep playing.
I felt the same when I lost my Duress armor, the very first runeword ever made with a "hi rune". For a few hours I felt like I couldn't play anymore. But I gathered up and kept playing and right now, I have all I need (except a warlock torch which is yet to come). And I play offline, self found, without possibility of trading for runes.
With a little more grinding you'll find other items to trade for that Jah and base.

This can still be risky, if your internet or the servers go down mid-recovery. Safer option is to have a separate account help with the recovery.oOKIWIOo wrote: 1 day agoFor my Sorc I have a complete second gear set in my stash for such situations. Yes, good point and actually I have done it this way, too (but I suppose most people can only login with one account at one time). But sometimes I take this (small) risk to squeeze out at least one more runShadowHeart wrote: 1 day agoThis can still be risky, if your internet or the servers go down mid-recovery (and I suppose most people habe only one account). Coooley has a video showing how this effect can be used to Steel items (time 5:03):
This is nothing new.
OP
I find it very interesting that you, for some reason, think I paid 3 Jah for that shield. First, how would you have any idea? Secondly, what I paid was a fraction of that. I've never even possessed three Jah since I've played the game!Schnorki wrote: 1 day agoMuch as I get the venting, just chalk it up as a lesson learned.

This makes your claims even more confusing... Did the seller complete the trade using false information and if yes why did you not report it?

I have no idea where that information was even gathered from, but I have never even remotely had that many Jah's and certainly didn't pay those prices. And who would I report it to? I purchased both the Dream Helm and Dream Shield from an individual here on the forum. In a private game, online. Very nice guy. I sincerely doubt that he reported it anywhere, or would even know where or why to do so. I'm at a complete loss here.oOKIWIOo wrote: 10 hours agoThis makes your claims even more confusing... The seller completed the trade by claiming that you paid 3 Jah for each item. Therefore, if you did not pay those prices he provided false information.Slapshot wrote: 8 hours agoI have no idea where that information was even gathered from, but I have never even remotely had that many Jah's and certainly didn't pay those prices. In this case you can contact the seller via messages here at d2. Io and ask for correction. If he does not respond or refuses to provide correct information you can also report this to a moderator.

Yeah, I also had some problems with my Dream paladin yesterday due to the two Heralds which both spawned with Thorns... this was not good for neither my Merc nor my purse...d2rppa69 wrote: 2 days agoFrom my exp with corpse popping,
Doesnt matter how many times u die., as long as u dont equip any gears, u can always exit n return back to the same game room, ur first corpse should pop in town for u, ive done this many times
To OP,
Sorry that this happened to u, im surprised a group of ppl cannot handle those damn cows… as long as u have decent gears, the cows shouldnt pose any any challenge…
Go to anyone's profile, scroll to Trade Stats and click on Sell History or Buy History. Any trade on this site will be captured, and with prices. Transparent, and very useful!Slapshot wrote: 8 hours agoI have no idea where that information was even gathered from, but I have never even remotely had that many Jah's and certainly didn't pay those prices. All trades are PSN, Switch or PC!
All trades will be conducted with a cup of tea and an apology (the British way).
Oh wow, I have been playing D2 (the original game) for so many years and never knew about this mechanic.TheSoulReaver wrote: 2 days agoWhen you log back in it will bring back your last corpse to town.
Best if you hadn't tried to go in & just left the game from the get go.
If you die a second time you're forced to stay otherwise it's all gone when you leave the game
It's a hard lesson to learn
I've had the same experience but luckily with very cheap gear
EDIT: Nvr mind, continued reading the thread.
After a trade is completed, the seller/trade owner closes it out and as part of that is able to enter both, the buyer and the price paid.
In this case, you have been listed as the buyer and both, the helmet and the shield were listed as sold to you for 3 Jah each. So 6 Jah total.
In both cases, that would've been a massive over-pay, hence my earlier comment.
If a trade gets closed with you supposedly paying xyz amount and that amount is not accurate (as you say is the case here), that should be reported to one of the moderators so we can step in and correct the pricing to avoid it misleading people in the price history here.
Looks a bit strange. When marking a trade as sold, you can select the buyer from a list. The list only contains users who have added at least one comment on the offer thread. So this actually means that you commented on both offers (shield and helmet).

You can type in the name as well and then either leave it as free text or select from a drop-down of matching names so you can enter the correct buyer even if you lined up your trade via PM or the like, without a comment in the post.
I can confirm but I'm pretty sure that it hasn't always been like this. In the past you could only select a user who made an offer. So I can sell to everyone in the forum a Dream for 3 Jah although he doesn't officially made an offer.Schnorki wrote: 1 hour agoWell, not quite.dejavue wrote: 2 hours agoLooks a bit strange.
