Hey guys,
Probably many of you thought about this, and probably spoke about it in the past.
We need to find a way to advertise this website, as the number of active traders here declines by the day.
I joined this web-site when it was made, and I donated hoping it will thrive.
I know it won't be able to keep up with jsp or traderie, but maybe the owners can do more to Attract other players?
I can't see why we shouldn't have other players trading on multiple platforms

I think there are a few reasons for the slow and gradual decline on trades here. The decline is everywhere, not just D2. Io. Traderie and in-game are also seeing it. Probably due to a decrease in active players from a lack of meaningful patches by the devs.
There has also been an increase in free items and regular giveaways that might be contributing the overall trade decreases.

I'm willing to accept other forms of currency. Like Tokens, Keys, Perfect Gems, and certain minor runes in lieu of my asking price. I'm also willing to accept rune combinations that add up to my asking price.
I see traderie decline 50-80% this month.
diablo Io is less trouble than traderie decline speed due to its less population and not having web trade bug issue.
traderie , they have ad web injection issue that cause web unable to use last month, makes a lot of people left traderie . it is not 100% fix today.
d2io it is use different way to keep active, it will remove trades that unable to complete in 3 days. Make it active but it is not good for few population world.

Favor Perfect Amethyst over Perfect Skull...
These days, I don't need that much Perfect Skull, it is less encourage to pay in Perfect Skull but it will treat slightly better than Perfect Gems.

The three day limit is so annoying. Yes I know I can setup a cron job using curl to update it frequently, but WTF why?leox wrote: 3 weeks agod2io it is use different way to keep active, it will remove trades that unable to complete in 3 days. There are quite a few reasons for trade decline:
Fewer people are playing, those who are playing have either found or acquired (market saturation) all the things they need, increased individual Wealth (people are hanging onto valuable drops), the value of items have declined, Ladder is no longer offering anything new, free item giveaways.
There seems to be a trend to play offline as well. The fact you can set players = 7, find better runes quicker etc.
Personally, I prefer online because it feels I am part of a community, even if going solo in-game.

Yes, I think market saturation in combination with a constant decreasing player base are the main two mutually reinforcing effects. I suspect one major reason for the recent "skyrocketing" value of Jah and the devaluation of Ist and Mal is due to the fact that less people are crafting. And the reason for that I think is because the market for those potential high value items is now so small that it could take ages to get these things sold. Therefore, why take the risk and the effort if the sucess for selling is very low and constantly decreasing?mhlg wrote: 3 weeks agoThere are quite a few reasons for trade decline:Fewer people are playing, those who are playing have either found or acquired (market saturation) all the things they need, increased individual Wealth (people are hanging onto valuable drops), the value of items have declined, Ladder is no longer offering anything new, free item giveaways.
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

Is it really that cumbersome to login one every 3 days and bump your trades? The 3-day limit ensures to buyers that sellers are actually checking their profiles every couple of days. If I put in an offer on something, I know I'll hear something back in at-most 3 days.ceving wrote: 3 weeks agoThe three day limit is so annoying. Yes it is. And it is way easier to drop the stuff in "free n" as to bump 96 times every three days to get 5 PA in the end. And if you miss a bump, you have to enter everything once again, because there is no cache for expired trades. I am almost done with trading. It is no fun and quite pointless.Knappogue wrote: 3 weeks agoIs it really that cumbersome to login one every 3 days and bump your trades?
Wait...are you bumping each trade individually?! I'm guessing you haven't noticed the "bump all trades" button.

they can make things to list item on top, then people less likely to pick bottom one. it is traderie way.Knappogue wrote: 3 weeks agoIs it really that cumbersome to login one every 3 days and bump your trades? anyway it is different approach that d2io will clean up inactive trade every 3 day. some item take 1 month to get sell and those trade may take week to get response. d2io somehow prevent those kind of troublesome trade. even if it is 10-40 Jah trade , I still think it should not trade like that. month, hell no
tradeie people love this kind but not here. I think it is good. this will make things sell in market general needs and main stream affordable, high cost/ performance.

OP
yes traderie, same like all other trading platforms went down in player activity, but there are still dozens offers on runes like Ist, Tal, Thul, Ort, Amn, Hel, etcKnappogue wrote: 3 weeks agoI think there are a few reasons for the slow and gradual decline on trades here. here you can only see one here and there.
I have completed around 3k trades on traderie, while only around 50 here.
To answer the question on the expiry, you have to know that the database space storage fee is far from being cheap, and is directly paid by the site owner.
Sure, he gets also some ad fee and donations, but for something he built as a hobby he cannot let it go out of control.
Hence the bump 3 days policy- and works perfectly from phone too.
Perhaps unperfect, so feel free to suggest better.

Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
The three-day expiry on trades here gives buyers the confidence that the sellers are truly active, and that the items are still available. If we didn't have this mechanic in place, then the market would be full of stale listings. It's really as simple as that.
If you take a look at the trade stats page, you'll see a graph that shows the number of daily completed trades on diablo2.io over the last 12 months. It is not increasing, and nor is it decreasing - it actually remains pretty steady as you can see.
It has been over four years since the game released (September) 2021, so naturally there are less players around than there used to be. There's not much I can do about that tbh - I'm not Blizzard, I just maintain this website.
What I can do as the Admin here, when I am able to take time out of my real life, is add features to the site that make the trading experience better - take a look at the last update which included a bunch of said trading improvements.
diablo2.io would never be able to (and has never sought to) compete with d2jsp, which has a 20+ year old community, and has solved the barter problem by providing liquidity in the form of real money (via forum Gold as an intermediary currency).
diablo2.io would never be able to (and has never sought to) compete with Traderie, which has a large development team, a large and active Asia-Pacific audience, much higher market volume, and more convenient features like live chat and granular filtering.
If you want to make any suggestions for improvements or new features that you think would help this website, then the feedback subforum is always open. If you want Blizzard to reinvest in D2R and bring players back to the game, then you'll want to share your thoughts on the official forums.

Not online 1 day, all no one touch become out of market inactive trade.(This check the online status of trader , not trade itself. )
Every 3 days, delete all out of market inactive.
tradie makes everyone offline every 12-24 hr, if user offline , trade will offline.
This might help space and prevent active trader have problem. But programmer need to write code to check user online status and make extra status to trade. Like tentative to remove the post because of inactive. And detail need fine tune and it only help site to keep current activity not restore old days glory. Not mention you have to test it carefully in case not broken existing code.

The cache for expired trades would be nice. Maybe instead of auto-delete, it could go inactive for 10 days and let you bump back to active. I have a feeling that a lot of us are older players who don't have the time to play/trade for multiple hours a day and can go a week or more without playing at all.
Part of the trading problem is that we all can level and grind so fast that low to mid stuff has low or no value. High level stuff is still hard to find without time dedicated to farming. I can't trade for the stuff I want because I haven't had drops anybody else wants unless I grind for pgems and runes, but even the pgem market is fading and that is a tedious grind.

and I think 90% of people here DO APPRECIATE the community you were able to gather in the spirit of helping each other (and eventually do this by trading a bit) rather than theses 2 impersonnal all "money" sitesTeebling wrote: 3 weeks agodiablo2.io would never be able to (and has never sought to) compete with d2jsp, which has a 20+ year old community, and has solved the barter problem by providing liquidity in the form of real money (via forum Gold as an intermediary currency).

Yes indeed, spoke of & even suggested more than once. But this site stubbornly refuses to and has therefore consistently remain niche in its own corner of the Diabloverse.Pitach wrote: 3 weeks agoHey guys,

Not saying that it's wrong. But as i've mentioned many missed opportunity.
I myself, stumbled on this site not by word of mouth, but because i was looking for updated information that the old AS did not provide (because for a time - it was taken down.) So by circumstances, did i come across d. Io andddddddd subsequently the trade, which contributed to a lot of site visits.
I wasn't into the FG nonsense that plagued trade back then and still isn't for that matter.
There are advantages and disadvantages both... just like those above have mentioned, in regards to trade.
Here, people tend not to hop on trading trends that traderie might offer, but you can get good steals / low ball offers get hits from time to time, (back when D2r dropped and game was being updated...) whereas traderie has massive coverage as a result from leveraging traffic from other game titles. thus offering my interest and things get sold much faster.
It's like going to a supermarket - traderie- whereas here it's more of a dedicated indie specialist store. When you carry more brands, even competing brands will love you more. It's a kind of strange synergy. For the indie store, you pretty much corner yourself to a spot until you pivot by choice or liquidation.
This game before D2r was already "legend" status. With the modernization, it is already a huge bonus. That said, i doubt the M$ will ever set dev time for D2r.
With D4 released, why would they? It does not make biz sense if the title is just staying on their inhouse Bnet. Why? Well why would i assign 2-3 dev to work on updates on archaic product when the original team already left aeons ago (and on what many see as a fallout.) , when the time used could have been spent on D4 which generates more income and reach? As Blizzard North - i hold a hope. But as a major like MS / Activision ...? Nah. too much red tape bureaucracy.
And look at what's being offered on the market by indie dev, that chose to release their games on Steam alone? There is no lie, and if you want to see the figures it's there in real time. You have Expedition 33 (Best Single player experience i've had in years for a turn base, fav to win this year's GOTY)...BG3 (won GOTY)..new internet darling Arc Raiders (likely gonna win best Multiplayer.) I don't even need to mention the others that are in the ARPG market, with features that are considered NORM and d2r players can only Dream and salivate for.
anyway...ranted too long and too far.
Just enjoy what you have on the table while you still can
Expect trade delays due to new update on POE2 starting 29 Aug

As trader , as long as the things can sell... the site is good.
I really dont care if there is live chat or not. Or real money , as long as I can get what I need and sell things I dont need.
Anything improve this will be good.
d2 , it is like the soul already gone, only body left in the world.
That 3d thing, for trader, it is just write a crontab to periodically curl bump all...I just lazy to get a aws to do this or just write script in windows startup, it actually easier than change site or convince the change.
