Yeah, I often find my first Sol randomly either late normal or early nightmare.mhlg wrote: 6 months ago I seem to find my first Sol runes in a Carver Village NM Black Marsh on my way to play house with The Countess.

My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.

Finally lol, took a lot of The Countess runs, and gained like 5 levels in the process, just to find a Sol
Mana management is no longer an issue

I just realised... ShadowHeart is a perfect name for a Necromancer!
Farm everything. Wreck Ubers.
■ Often online all day, but I'm on call so I may have to leave in a hurry.

OP
Haha, true! Missed opportunity there, I guess
Also... I spent all that time to find a Sol, and then one just randomly drop. Oh RNG, so silly sometimes.

By the way, have you managed to make Rhyme ? With a good head base it's a very nice runeword (but perhaps you favor Ancients Pledge?)
Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
OP
No, I haven't found a decent enough base yet, and I actually haven't got a Shael yet either. I am planning on making Rhyme in a shrunken head

Good luck on your (fun?) journey, my bet is you'll make it through!

Thanks! And yes, it's fun

I am all caught up on your Heroic adventure. With experience with all kinds of Necro builds, must say you should have chose the Bowmancer!
Haha just joking, but if I was to suggest a build. That would be Bone Necro. You are going to find the Summons a little lackluster once you reach Hell
As mentioned previously, you gonna struggle in confined spaces like Maggots Lair.
But that's not the Main issue. Diablo smashing all your Skeles with one Ring of Fire consistently will be
However being one with little experience, I wouldn't suggest changing over to Bone or Poison at any point of the playthru
It'll be best to stay well acquainted with the build you working with rather exploring a new one during more dangerous difficulties
I do offer one good tip for any summon necro. If you happen to Teleport yourself into a pack of enemies. Do NOT Move (OR just Tele Out of There)
Moving the slightest will give monsters an opportunity to hit you. remaining absolutely still will give skeletons a chance to spread around and protect you
I view the Skeletons as your Body Armor, The Golem is the Shield that Helps Protect you and your Armor, the Mercenary is your Weapon
You are simply the Mastermind behind it all that controls and influence the Battle Field in your favor
Good Luck and look forwards to watching your Success in Finishing Hell with the Best Class in the Game

All Trades are Negotiable. Long Live Nihlathak
OP
I am actually half-considering switching to Bone when I reach Hell. Necromancer has some of the best crowd control skills in the game, which can pretty much disable any group of monsters (except champion packs, I suppose), so even as a necro-noob, I think I should be fine (famous last words )Soultego wrote: 6 months ago I am all caught up on your Heroic adventure. Even if you switch to Bone, I'd advise to keep the 4 curses (to Decrep) and the 9 summonings (all but Fire Golem) as 1 point wonder. They are definitely good meat shields and Revives are Key to deal for example with Ancients. Apart from that full Bone works well. Do remember that points into Bone Wall do increase your Bone Armor as well as your Bone Spear.

What a pity. I was beginning to enjoy the darkness.
Now, time to find a base for Rhyme. Or settle for one of the crappy ones I already have...
