Actually I got from Countess 2x Mal, 2x Ist and 1 x Pul. And only 2 Terror keys.
And I've done LOTS of runs
And I've done LOTS of runs
Value of keys should be:
1 - Hate
2 - Dest
2.5 - Terror
The Summoner drops most of the time nothing of value, and if the RNG is bad you'll have to cross 4 ways to find him.
The Countess drops keys and runes, hence why many people farm her. Although it's a pain to find her tower, and then navigate through the 4 floors.
Nihlathak is BY FAR the easiest to find. The waypoints and entrances are fixed, so it takes 15 seconds to get to him, and 5 to 10 seconds to kill him. Slap a Nature's Peace Ring and you're good to go.
Not to mention that like Baal, Nihlathak can drop any item in the game, I got a Shako and a Spiderweb from him. So running him with some MF gear on is a good tactic.
It seems that he also has an elevated chance to drop high runes, I got a Sur and a Cham from him.
I get a generous chuckle when someone wants to give me 2 Destruction keys for 3 of my Hate keys, considering The Summoner is more time-consuming to farm and drops nothing of value outside of keys.
As a lightening sorceress, Nihlathak is a walk in the park for me, and if it wasn't for the artificial game-creation cooldown Blizzard put in place, I'd be swimming in D Keys, and some runes / items too. For a Fire Sorceress he must be even easier because the vipers there are immune to lightening, but not to fire.

Whatever it is people shouldn't expect Vex for 3x3 when you get stupid necro torch, you can't even sell it.
I got 7 keys for you for Ist, msg me.Jilssajaji wrote: 3 years ago I just offered multiple people Pul + Lem for 2 Key of Terror.
They immediately leave the game.
I offered Ist+ for 7 Key of Terror, he immediately leaves the game.
What retarded site are they looking at?? Does it legit say 1 Key = Ist or something??

Trade mechanics are complex and not Black-White.
Supply and demand will set the price and I can tell you simply by seeing potential uses of Ist and its drop rarity compared to that of Terror that they are not equal. BUT any item is worth what buyer is willing to pay and in-game trades don't have an much comparison other than own experience.
People do refer too often to fg/real money prices - large part of playerbase don't have any knowledge about d2jsp and money prices are heavily inflated.
That is why I like trade system like here where people can make offers on items publicly and there will be trade history available for future. Wish VV included a similar system by default.

yea keys arent that rare and are overpriced a lot
all keys not just Terror.
Destruction keys are just more expensive because all the cold sorcs cant get them.
even though finding nilathak is much more easier than countess or god forbid The Summoner.
the magic lies in beating the Pandemonium Event.
but a unid torch even goes for 4x3 keys.
even though almost all mfers can do countess and summoner atleast.
but only a tiny fraction of the players are actually beating ubers
all keys not just Terror.

In my opinion you misunderstand the way runes may be traded upwards and downwards. In some cases it is indeed true to say that 2 of the lower runes are worth the same as 1 higher rune, but that isn't always true.Hen0sis wrote: 3 years ago Actually Pul for a Key isn't overpriced at all imo.
The cheapest you can get a 3x3 for is around ~ Gul, and 9x Pul = Ist + Pul, which is even cheaper.
I understand that you pay extra for the 3x3 since it's a complete uber package in a single trade, but still, you would save Um + Pul by buying every single Key for Pul each.
From my experience I can say that 2 Mal = Ist, or 2 Gul = Vex, or 2 Vex = (roughly) Ohm. But despite the fact that they can be crafted in cube that way 2 Pul ≠ Um, 2 Um ≠ Mal and 2 Ist ≠ Gul. That's why you can't expect to trade a Gul for 16 Pul's. That's an insane overprice. And for the same reason 1 Key can't be worth a Pul. Its fair price is a bit less than a Lem.
3x3 Key set worth a Gul (atm) because in a conjunction with effort of killing Ubers it is equal to the estimated price of a unid torch. That's the reason unid's are traded for 3x4 or 3x3 + smth.

OP
Correct, and especially now with the economy slowing down crazy. 3x3 Keyset is hardly worth a Gul still. And as Reliks said 3x3 set = Gul, but not 2x Ist, since x2 Ist > Gul.

From the tracked runs I have done, I've got Key of Terror about every 10th run.
I play on UTC+3 (aka CEST+1 or EEST)
Always enjoy reading comments of trades like:
- WTS low-roll runeword: I'm just asking for the cost of rune + base
pm me here (d2. Io) for trade
I play as a Frenzy-Barb and Nihllathak is by far the fastest to get Keys for me (knowing the way and no Phys-immune besides witches and ghosts).Yperka wrote: 3 years ago Value of keys should be:

Summoner is a pain in the ass for a Barb, because there are plenty ghosts (instand oom AND phys-immune), you need to walk/jump everything AND he drops abysmal.
I did a fair bit of countess, but I got enough low-level runes now and running through the tower is just annoying over time.
Good day to you partner!

Correct, I mistakenly looked at hate keys
