Correct, Conviction only amplifies the lightning part of FoH. If you go some place with demons/undead, there's hardly any point to it because the Bolts are what annihilates those en masse and those don't gain from Conviction. Personally, I never used it on my S1 FoHdin either.Janet the Java wrote: 2 years agoNo Conviction. I don't really know why, except it barely makes a difference to FoH in my experience, maybe only the lightning damage? And I know some use it for smiters but I don't think it's standard/necessary for them either?Necrarch wrote: 2 years ago No Conviction ? It helps a lot with FoH, as far as I remember, and if you are above Über Mephisto's, you cancel his, so only need to reach 175 res instead of 300 (except that your merc will die, but well... merc's life).
As for smiters using it..that's just wrong imo. Someone somewhere once said it'd be a good idea to skill into it to override meph's Conviction but the only thing that really does is save you from it while sacrificing your merc and/or party. Put the same points into Salvation instead and you're actually useful to everyone around in that situation. (Yeah, yeah, you'll need like 10 more res yourself to pull even but mweh..)
