Is this considered a bug?

Scenario was there was a

Diablo Clone or some sorts in Hell difficulty hellforge area. So since the weak character that I am, I can't defeat diablo's clone or is it an uber? So knowing that, I have mistakenly placed

Mephisto's Soulstone on the forge then I tried to find the monster who drops the

Hellforge Hammer to destroy

Mephisto's Soulstone but

Lo and behold the monster is not present...

Just wondering if this is a bug? or does the

Hellforge Hammer being carried by this

Diablo Clone or uber?

My character is a lighting sorc

Since you saw a

Diablo Clone and the superunique monster

Hephasto the Armorer was no where to be found, I can safely say that

Hephasto the Armorer got replaced by

Diablo Clone. By the way, it is a

Diablo Clone not Uber Diablo. And the

Hellforge Hammer is only dropped by

Hephasto the Armorer.
You can just create a new game to do

The Hellforge quest.

Just talk to Cain in Act 4, he will put a new one in your inventory. You don't need to kill

Mephisto to get another.

Don't give up. Equip an item with "Prevent Monster Heal" property, such as Edge, and you should be able to kill DC eventually even with a weak character. It may be quite lengthy, but

Annihilus is worth it.

And before quit, you may try to ask for some help

Good to know for future encounters. Most likely he exited the game by now since the thread is from +9 h ago.

When I first encountered Big D I tried more than 4 hours to defeat him and I had to let him go eventually because I didn't know all the strategy or asking for help.
