One of the new patch 2.4 runewords, Unbending Will is fairly easy to obtain given its low rune requirements, and favours melee characters.

Not a completely new runeword actually - its name has been present in runes.txt file for years, along with many more (although without stats - only Pattern and Plague have them). It is a hint that we can expect more unfinished stuff to be brought back in future patches.

All of the runes required for this runeword can be easily farmed at The Countess. The highest, Fal, only drops on Hell difficulty.

It provides amazing properties for it's cost. It has a good amount of x% Enhanced Damage, rivaling a well-rolled Oath as a great pre-high-runes Runeword. Good amounts of Life Leech, Increased Attack Speed, Prevent Monster Heal, and etc are all useful for any melee character. The chance to cast Taunt is the cherry on top as it gives more survivability and helps with escaping enemies.

While this runeword can be used by any melee character, it is especially aimed at Act 5 Mercenaries. Since it needs a 6 Open Socket Sword the bases are somewhat limited so it will most likely be made in an Colossus Blade (preferably ethereal if used by a Barbarian Hireling)

Nice to know: For the Act 5 Frenzy Barbarian you have to socket it into a six open socket Sword that is one handed only (like Phase Blade, Crystal Sword or Dimensional Blade). The Act 5 Bash Barbarian can use it in one handed or two handed weapons like Colossus Blade, Executioner Sword or Great Sword. But the Bash Barb is limited to carry just one sword.

Unbending Will was ladder only during Patch 2.4 and Patch 2.5 (Ladder Season 1 & 2). Since Patch 2.6 (Ladder Season 3) it is possible to create Unbending Will in non-ladder.
