Should be much more often, around 80~85% of the time.ganseng wrote: 2 days agothx.. after observing him a bit, I think he does hit 3 times with Jab, and he jabs quite often, maybe 50% of the time (lvl 84 currently)
vued wrote: 2 days agoFor an Amazon it's the speed for 3 jabs.
For the A2 I assume it's per Jab because he would otherwise attack so super fast and I never saw that. (My guess here is that Amazon has a special hab animation and Merc just attacks 3 times)
Merc does not always use Jab. He uses Jab, normal attack, or activates his aura (only in case it's not active).
The frequency depends on his level. If you want to know how often he hab's, you have to take these numbers and divide the frequency value for jabs by the sun of frequency values of the available skills.

Is attack rating needed on a magezon?
Or more precisely: When you "hit" a target, can you Pierce even when you fail the chance to hit roll?
I read somewhere you have to successfully hit to have a chance to Pierce, which is needed to trigger a second hit after the first target and to have a 2nd frost/fire explosion. But I don't know if that's correct and I'm still not sure after trying to observe my pierces.

It’s supposed to work like that - where a successful hit check is required for piercing to also be successful. But both are rolled separately, and if something is a miss but the pierce roll is successful, the projectile will appear to pierce and even create graphical effects - but it has no actual effect.vued wrote: 1 day agoIs attack rating needed on a magezon?

From Amazon Basin on Pierce & Piercing Attack:
I.e., if you’re trying to test this, you can’t rely solely on visual effects, you need to actually check if the subsequent targets were damaged.
- If a hit check is not successful but piercing is successful, the missile may appear to pierce its target and even display graphical effects, but it doesn't actually do so: damage and modifiers are not applied to subsequent targets.
I wonder if anyone has actually tested this thoroughly in D2R.

I used the Horadric Cube upgrade recipe on an Angelic Sickle, but I could no longer equip it even though I met all the requirements. Does this happen with other set items? I was however able to successfully upgrade a unique weapon.
i believe there is a bug here with upgraded set items, and the real level requirement is 5 levels higher than the displayed level requirement

All upgrade item recipes incur a level requirement "penalty" -Rob York wrote: 1 day agoI used the Horadric Cube upgrade recipe on an Angelic Sickle, but I could no longer equip it even though I met all the requirements. From normal to exceptional: +5
From exceptional to elite: +7
(so upgrading twice from normal to elite is +12 total)
This is added on top of the upgraded base's level requirement.
It's described on all the item recipe pages here at diablo2.io.
For set items specifically, there's a bug where the in-game tooltip does not actually include the +5/+7/+12 modifier, so it will state the wrong level requirement. You will be able to equip the upgraded Angelic Sickle at level 28 (23 is the base level requirement of Shamshir, and then +5 on top of that).
(for rare & unique items, the in-game tooltips do include the +5/+7/+12 modifiers)

Problem is I don't have 100% right now on my magezon which made testing hard.ShadowHeart wrote: 1 day agoIt’s supposed to work like that - where a successful hit check is required for piercing to also be successful. Will get it up and test. I have low AR anyways so it should be easy to get a missed hit and as a result, no Pierce damage.

A good taget for repeated testing of splash effects could be Stormtree at the Flayer Jungle / Lower Kurast gate, his pack usually stick tightly together and are easy to find. They are cold immune so you need a sunder, but their resulting high cold resist might actually be an asset - it is easier to reliably see the difference between 20 and 30 shots (to kill the pack) than between 2 and 3 shots.vued wrote: 1 day agoProblem is I don't have 100% right now on my magezon which made testing hard.ShadowHeart wrote: 1 day agoIt’s supposed to work like that - where a successful hit check is required for piercing to also be successful. I used him when testing whether Kuko Shakaku or Blood Raven's Charge was better for my dual element magezon, which uses normal attacks to shoot mana-free synergized explosive Arrows. The bows performed very similarly, which was also predicted by their respective stats.
Usually available after 21CET. Most of my Expansion trades can be converted to RotW, just ask.
Thanks for the idea. I'll try to create a situation where the 2nd target is not effected by the first splash. So likely some zombies in the blood moore.NaglFarfar wrote: 1 day agoA good taget for repeated testing of splash effects could be Stormtree at the Flayer Jungle / Lower Kurast gate, his pack usually stick tightly together and are easy to find. Right, that is better of course! We simply need to see whether a second visual Ice explosion results in no damage, which should be easily doable with two targets somewhat apart. I didn't think that farvued wrote: 1 day agoThanks for the idea. I'll try to create a situation where the 2nd target is not effected by the first splash. The Defiler, very ugly and much more mysterious.
Does anyone know how the Defiler's shared damage ability actually works? Up to 5 monsters share the damage? But how much damage do they share? A percentage of the damage or a flat value? How do resistances, monster types and the difficulty factor in? And, although, the answer is probably no, can two Defilers affect the same monster twice so that it reveives double damage?

Why do hotdogs come in packs of 10 while hotdog buns only come in packs of 8?
The answer is easy. You just have to buy 4 packs of hot dogs and 5 packs of buns.Rhaegar86 wrote: 7 hours agoWhy do hotdogs come in packs of 10 while hotdog buns only come in packs of 8?
1) Yes, up to 5 monsters per defiler. The shared damage kicks in like an aura, there is a thin cyan line to denote the "aura" being applied on the target. Just like an aura, it appears to check which monsters have the aura applied every 2 seconds.mikelessar wrote: 7 hours agoThe Defiler, very ugly and much more mysterious.

2) The skill tree says the percent damage shared, I have no reason to think that is incorrect. Hits 50% at level 13, diminishing returns after that, 53% at lvl 20
3) I haven't seen anything to suggest that resistances are double applied (e.g. the post resistance value applies to share, which then gets resistance applied again), nor have I seen anything to suggest that the effectiveness is tampered down with increased difficulty level (presumably if this happened it would be in patch notes)
4) I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I have no proof of this.
Importantly, I researched it a while ago and I believe NHD does NOT stop defilers from applying damage on an AOE spell, meaning the same target can get hit by both the AOE attack AND received shared damage from a different target that got hit by the same AOE attack. So if the aura is applied, you are boosting your AOE attacks by 50%. This is extremely underappreciated by the community and damage calculators.
Windforce or Faith in Grand Matron Bow is your choice
with the uber jewel, Windforce is clearly better imo

Thanks for the answer. Saw in an old POST that If you achivement a high speed, some of the Arrows shot in Strafe wont register in the target.ganseng wrote: 1 hour agoWindforce or Faith in Grand Matron Bow is your choice

Already found a Windforce to use.
