Do you mean this sarcastically?

Sunders are rarer from 6/7 to 6/21, so the chance to get a sunder was reduced from 85.71% to 28.57. So they are 1/3 rarer than before when considering MF.

I think for a ladder season this is not good news. So many build rely on a sunder. Next season might look like the first RotW, probably not that extreme, but sunders will definitely be rarer and more expensive,
I meant it genuinely, i missed Gheed's Fortune so much last ladder. Really i would rather them be exclusive to heralds again, but it's the right direction imo, sunders were too common imo and extremely cheap last ladder so i don't think it'll be enough to make them inaccessible. Especially with unchanged rates from Herald

Chains seems to be fixed from the not attaching to your crew standpoint and they also seem much more effective, almost like they addressed the zero damage issue. Can anyone else confirm?
It's working great for me now too!! Seems they finally fixed it which is so overdue

On the other hand, sunder drops from heralds are unchanged. Last season I found 25+ sunder charms, of which only 2 or 3 were from other sources than heralds. Might be anecdotal, sure, and not all builds can farm heralds so easily (ran an Abyss/miasma warlock), but still.

I'm in CET (Central European Time)
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

Have they increased the dropchance of unique Charms from non Herald and non Boss Monsters?

Ive found 2 unique Charms(one gheeds, one sunder) from normal monsters after the patch with under 200 MF while i was base and runefarming cows and Lower Kurast.

Why is it that even something as simple as "put patch notes up" is reliably beyond blizzard's capabilities? ~~

B.net app still just has everything as 3.2.

That differs from my experience quite a lot - from about 7 or 8 charms only 1 was from Herald iirc.
I was complaining why Heralds even exist when nothing drops from them...

For me, it's been about 50/50 from heralds vs mf since 3.2

So I have just finished 1.5h of regular Andariel P8 Offline. Target farming Manald Heal :D So ofc I got 6 unique rings, one almost perfect Raven Frost, no Manald. However, just 1 shard. AND Two unique charms, both of them Gheed's. So that is a good tell, about the new patch.

Maybe they do it intentionally to keep some of the "how-the-f***-does-this-work-aah-don't-care-I-will-just-play"-vibe that was typical for the year 2000. Game mechanics should remain a mystery to the player. Thus hiding the patch notes.

So after some testing (handful of runs each):

Bind Demon feels far more reasonable now.
Still very good as a bonus for non-demon builds but not as utterly overkill anymore.
And for a proper demon build, even a normal mob lancer still shreds through P8 TZ96 with no problem whatsoever (and still 1shots just about everything as soon as amp procs). So that's still at the higher end of P8 performance really but also feels more reasonable than before.
(As expected, the "OMG THEY'RE KILLING Bind Demon!" outcry was way overblown)

Chains is far, FAR less annoying to use, thanks to actually going where it should now.
However, the 0-dmg-to-target bug seems to still be there. Possibly slightly improved (not enough runs to really judge that bit) but still there.

In game chat is still dead post update. A mixed blessing I think. Anyone know if Blizzard has planned a fix? Maybe a surprise improvement to the whole chat system? An overhaul and upgrade to 2026 standards?

It'd be nice to have some surprise changes (or even discover one yourself!), but, sadly, it's too late for such tricks. The community has devolved matured, and today everything is data mined and immediately published. Worse, in D2 most data are stored in plain text files, so no secret would hold for long.

I'm probably the person you're suggesting was saying "OMG THEY'RE KILLING Bind Demon!". First, I agree with you that it's probably where it should be.

Second, it's not where it should be relative to everything else. That's the problem. Miasma is insane. And Tainted is better (than BD). When Tainted is better, there is really no point in playing a Bind Demon build, because the tainteds are so much easier to summon. The flavor that Bind Demon offered was so cool. You hunted for hours for a really great one, and because of that, it topped something you could summon at the press of a button. Tainted topping Bind Demon is a real problem for the build.

It's hard to stomach the nerf when miasma is so insane. Miasma is currently better than Bind Demon was pre-patch, so why would they focus their efforts on a niche build that reuqired hours to put together instead of a super easy build that can waste everything better in seconds? This makes no sense to me.

As a result, I'll not be chasing Bind Demon anymore. And that bums me out, because it was such a cool thing to happen to the game. Yes, I could still play it. But it's hours of effort, and playing like HC just to go slower than Tainted. Feels bad.

Edit: And tainteds even give you free fire res on top of it.

I would like the Bind Demon change a lot more if they could throw non- Blood Boil summon builds a Bone

Really think another damage synergy is the best option, on something useless like Summon Goatman, that way it stays a local buff to summon builds. Because i agree Bind Demon was way too strong for non-demon builds

Something like 0.5% curse chance per point and maybe half of the damage nerf back. But it seems like they are just not interested in supporting summon builds outside of Blood Boil. Which is such a shame

Edit * Changed Engorge to Summon Goatman, since Engorge is already a synergy for Blood Boil

I think what surprised me about the nerf is that Bind Demon builds supposedly being OP wasn’t reflected in what I saw on battle.net public games and wasn’t reflected in trade prices.

Public games - never ran into someone running one, granted usually everyone is off on their own.

Trade prices - demon skillers still trade for way less than Chaos or Eldritch

So that’s why it felt out of the blue to me. If a build is OP, usually everyone wants to do it and that reflects in trade prices and what you see people playing online

Also, not just any nerf, but a 60% nerf. Outside Echoing Strike, had blizz ever nerfed a skill so much in one patch?

It was kinda punishing to play. If you screwed up once, if a Herald took out your demon, it was hours of searching. I think that kept a lot of people away, but it felt rewarding if you were willing to put that in. All of that was heightened by the fact that your spells are literally taking that demon that you spent so long searching for closer to Death. So you're dancing on a knife Edge when fighting strong heralds. Given that it forces so much investment, it kinda felt like it should be the strongest build in the game.

I agree, ran into a few but it's not the most popular build

I think the angle they were coming from was, that it was too much power essentially for free on top of the already strong main skills on other builds ( Hex Purge, Abyss, Blood Boil, etc)

Which i agree is something to target, but i don't love that it has to be at the expense of summoners 😞
