The equivalency he posted would mean you got 16
Ist
worth of value for 19 ists. My equivalency would put it at 20 to 30 value for 19
Ist
. If the seller wanted to he could've waited for a better buyer, it's all about timing. You got a good deal in either case. From what I've seen a
Ber
can go much higher than 10-11
Ist
because I sold one for 17 just 2 days ago.
let's begin from the start. what type of game are you talking about, softcore/hardcore, nonladder/ladder, pc/ps/switch?
Ladder SC, hence the mention of it at the end of my reply.
Ber
and
Jah
tend to be closer to the lower estimate in non-ladder from what I've seen, about 10-11
Ist
, which is closer to what you got in your trade.

Nechrach wrote that it's for nonladder and that things are different for ladder.
Also, again, that post is 2 moths old. Things changed since then.
You can place your valuation for ladder, just write that on the top of post.

Hello guys,

As said above :
- prices may and will vary - the safest way to get current runes information is to go to the price history of that rune.
- therefore, a 2 months old post is necessarily wrong, though NL prices are quite stable now
- prices indicated before were for NL, and they differ vastly for Ladder, especially when Ladder begins.
Ber
and
Jah
are worth more in ladder, especially at season start when they are super sought after.
- Agreed that
Lem
/
Pul
/
Um
/
Mal
are slightly above what they used to be, even in NL. As for higher runes, they may have raised a bit also.

Once again, this post was :
- To give an idea of prices at a certain point in time
- And for NL SC only

Hope it clarifies.

He also wrote that it's for early ladder, we're already 2.5 months in the current season. I get it now that prices can vary, I've only played for a few months so I don't know how big those changes can be. Currently his old estimates are off even for non-ladder, because ladder prices now are almost in line with non-ladder. It's practically impossible to find a
Ber
for 7
Ist
or a
Lo
for 4
Ist
anywhere. Even if you look at historic prices here, there's only like 1 trade like that in the past 5 months. Online and on traderie prices are even steeper.

You correctly pointed out that ladder and non-ladder are different markets and command different prices. That difference is not unique. diablo2.io, traderie, d2jsp, ebay, facebook, etc are also different markets and there will be sometimes significant variance in prices. On D2.
Io
prices tend to be a little softer than traderie. Its been like that for at least 2 years.

Different gaming platforms will also experience different price values at the same moment in time. The Xbox market, for example consistently lags behind PC by 4-6 months. I can still trade 8
Ist
for a
Jah
on xbox, but on PC I'd have to pay 10+
Ist
for that
Jah
.

Will buy any 3 minor keys for an
Ist
- message me.
My free items are for players who play on xbox only and are intended for new players or ones who can't afford much. Its sad I even need to stipulate this ...

Different topic, but prolonging a game's fun by pretending not knowing something we already know is going to be futile.
you don't need to pretend, but you can have fun without playing the meta. the game is so much more than that. it's not just about being efficient and getting a good deal, it can be about the struggle, whether alone or with friends, it can bbe about the enjoyment of drops, it can be about making new friends and completing challenges together.

after 20 years or so, would you not say it's kinda stale to start with a sorc and get GG gear in the first few days? Even if someone is the type of player that likes to show off his early ladder gains, after so much time, can that bring any kind of excitement anymore?

Why does
Ber
go for
Jah
but
Jah
goes for
Ber
and
Ist
7
If
Ber
goes for
Jah
then
Jah
can go for
Ber
.

The reason for the difference is a bit like the stock market supply and demand.

The last price for a stock trade might have been $1.00 ao you could say that stock was worth $1.00. But current Buy bid is $0.95 and cureent sell Offer is $1.05. So if you need to buy right now, you pay $1.05. If you need to sell right now you only get $0.95. or you can offer $1.00 and then wait and see if someome in the marlet thinks thats a fair price. you might get a trade or might not.

In D2 if you need a trade right now, you'll tend to lose a bit of value. If you are patient you can get a bit more.

There are lots of traders who try and just work the spread in items by buying a little bit low and selling a little bit high. If the same person did both of the trades in your post, they would make an
Ist
profit. So those trades are always on offer. I think these people spend a lot of time playing so can afford to wait.

I personally always just sell a bit below m
market value and buy a bit over it since I dont play enough to have items up for trade then trade when it suits other people. I need to trade when I want to so I pay the market cost.
