My first full key set!

Finally! After a very long time farming

The Countess I have managed to get a 3x3 set. Phew!

Now... I don't think I actually have the guts to go through with the full Ubers. I don't think I'm prepared enough and I don't think I fully understand what goes on with it.

Any help pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated!

I'm biased, but I would only do ubers with a pally.

ES warlock could probably do it too, but it's untested (but likely very good). I don't know if it has enough survivability for me personally.

If you need some help make game. I'll give you a hand and walk you through it (if NL softcore.

id like to try if i can beat ubers, so if you are going in make me know

make a game with a name and password. that way if u die u leave and rejoin and get ur body without losing ur portal, or if u get disconnected.

if u need help i can come in a finish em off for u. so add me, do it while i'm online and msg me if u need help.

watch a youtube video on it. too much to type out.

I’m currently running an ES warlock with only about 21k damage (30 when minion and merc kicks in). I’ve heard that using

Life Tap helps with warlock builds. I can probably swap to marrowalk for that.

Only one way to find out.
Though since you have doubts before going in, you can just make sure that you have someone standing by who can bail you out if need be so the keys don't go to waste.
Depending on timing, region, game mode and such, I can make myself available to be your safety net.

Generally speaking, as basically everything, it boils down to "kill stuff to collect loot".

Though since you asked for points, at least some general pieces:
- You'll need 3 of each of the 3 keys (which it seems you already know)
- Each set 3 different keys opens one "mini uber" portal when used in the cube in

Harrogath
- Make sure you go through all 3 of those in the same game as that is the only way to guarantee you get all 3 different ones
- Each such portal holds a "mini uber" at the end (or often near the entrance in the case of sands/

Duriel), each of which drops an organ upon Death
- Those 3 different organs combined (again, cube in

Harrogath) open the

Portal to Uber Tristram
- Once there, you'll find the 3 ubers (meph, dia,

Baal) to take on
- After the 3rd one of those dies, he'll drop your torch and a

Standard of Heroes that totally has a purpose *cough*
- Use a passworded game so noone comes in to steal your ubers
- If you have randos from trades on your friends list, switch to offline mode/disable friend join so they don't either
- Make sure you know the game's name and pass so you can rejoin to get your body back if needed and/or so you can properly ask for assistance if needed
- As noted above already, when going in with doubts, it'd probably be a good idea to line up assistance beforehand, just in case it becomes needed
- The most critical pieces for an easier time are generally overcapped resistances against uber meph (his

Conviction drops you by 125) as well as "self-sustainability" (

Life Tap, basically) though some builds can plow through without that

Fantastic advice! Hmmm, the resistances bit scares me. I’m not really fully spec’d so I might be better holding off. Not sure now!

I've done lots with Smiter/FoH smiter and

Frenzy Barb. So if youre using one of those builds I can give lots of advice. Haven't done it with a Warlock yet so its hard to say how that would go - certain builds can seem overpowered and then just get mowed down by Ubers because of certain small crucial details. But some basic details I'll give here.

For

Frenzy Barb & paladin (and indeed most other builds), 50% or more crushing blow is ideal (Gface and

Gore Rider are perfect and usually all you need). Anything more than 50% isn't super necessary so don't stress about getting 100% CB, it is not going to make that much of a difference.

Need Open Wounds somewhere on your gear, (if you have

Gore Rider you're good enough here) this is pretty much mandatory - Prevent Monster Heal does not work on Ubers and without any Open Wounds you won't be able to stop their health regen, which can make it damn near impossible to get the kill once their health bar gets low since CB is based off remaining life, not total. If you don't have

Gore Rider then a Blood Crafted

Belt is another budget solution for OW source.

Need total 300% cold and lightning res to neutralize Uber Meph's

Conviction aura. Fire isnt as important and poison res isn't affected by

Conviction. If you get 240% uncapped then Treachery

Fade proc will get u to 300.

Need source of

Life Tap. Budget is

Life Tap

Wand, otherwise Exile runeword for paladin or Last Wish

Phase Blade also work well (the latter is prohibitively expensive). Dracul's is also helpful for

Life Tap proc but given its low proc % it is still advisable to use

Life Tap

Wand for the initial cast in this case. Also provides more OW proc and is considered generally BiS for smiter paladin in this use case scenario.

Frenzy Barb may be better off with

Laying of Hands because generally they need more IAS than a Smiter and they also can utilize the 350% ED to demons which does not apply to

Smite.

One important thing not often mentioned, if you're using a Smiter, do NOT use ANY gear that has CTC any projectile on striking against

Uber Baal - for example Principle body armour or

Laying of Hands with CTC

Holy Bolt. His chilling armour reflect can very easily kill you because of this alone.

When fighting

Izual and

Baal, you can put on

Snowclash or

Raven Frost ring to deal with their retaliating Ice spikes, which could catch someone new off guard, and get them killed instantly.

Other than that, the fights are not hard. ES warlock has plenty of DPS as is.

ES Warlock can definitely do Ubers. Several people have successfully done it. Do what Bisu said, bring a

Raven Frost or

Snowclash for

Uber Baal's

Chilling Armor.

One last bit of advice:
When things are not going well, don't panic. Don't ever lead the mobs to surround the red portals. Don't turn the entrances into Death traps.

As long as you keep the portal entrances clear and safe, you can always regroup or get help easily.
