Hi
On most of Necro Summoner guides they recommend put 1 point on 5 Curses:
Amplify Damage
Decrepify
Dim Vision
Life Tap
Lower Resist
I understand the situations where you want to use each of the first four (OK)
About Lower Resist, on group plays, I understand too that there are teams where it will add more damage to the team than Amplify Damage (OK)
But if I only do solo plays, is there a situation where Lower Resist will be better than Amplify Damage?
(I can't figure it out...seems like a waste of points acquire Lower Resist in this case)

For poison necro.
Lower Resist => cast poison to kill first monsters => Amplify Damage => Corpse Explosion for AOE

pm me here (d2. Io) for trade
OP
I'm thinking more on pure Necro Summoner (no Poison Nova - like here https://maxroll.gg/d2/guides/summoner-necromancer-guide )mockingbirdreal wrote: 2 years agoFor poison necro.

So normally use Amplify Damage (or Decrepify versus annoying monsters) since the start, for Merc/Minions kill first monster faster.
Then no need to go till Lower Res. Stay in the needed 4 points to go to Decrep.
Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
for a summoner, i go 1 pt amp damage, and nothing else........
OP
I was like that
But now I use Decrepify on Bosses and more rarely on some annoying/super fast monster.
And Dim Vision is good on areas with many long range monsters (like sometimes spawn on Act 5 and Act 4)
Dec + Clay Golem takes the danger out of every enemy pack (the slow is absurd)
Aside from that, amp damage. Works great with Bone Break Charm. Bone Break Sunders the immunity and amp then works for 100%

This is my Zealer. There aren't many like him and this one is mine.
My Zealer is my best friend. He is my life. I must master him as I must master my life.
Without me, my Zealer is useless. Without my Zealer, i am useless.

Against bosses, pure summoners are not easy to handle. Therefore most choose to add a little something when they have 20 Skel / 20 Skel Mast / 1 in others / 1 for 4 curses / 1 Bone Armor / 1 Teeth / 1+ CE (remember that every skill point just increases radius and you'll have most likely 20+ from gear, so going 20 may be overkill).
Most obvious path is poison, as it only needs 60 points to max out, + 3 for Lower Res and less investment that Bone, you can deal decent poison damage in addition to the summons.

About bosses since I begin to "tele stomp" they are dying reasonably fast.
(didn't try Uber or DClone with this necro yet...)
I end up putting extra points in Bone Prison (for Bone Armor)
The one situation outside of group play that I could see using Lower Resist as a summoner would be:
1. No Bone Break
2. Vs Physical Immune that Amplify Damage doesn't bring down well
3. That is also not Fire Immune
4. And near bodies that can be targeted by Corpse Explosion.
This is a very niche situation, and the correct response is probably just to skip the enemy anyway. But technically speaking... you do get use out of it there.
I wouldn't do it though.
