more bowzon questions

Hey,

my favourite of them all, the bowzon.
going for hybrid frost/physical(have cold sunder-but that's about it, so can't go full cold yet)

I'm SSF, on p8.
yes i know not an ideal bowzon players X, but that's the way i like it. until i reach hell at least.

so some questions, regarding mid-game and end game:

1) I have

Lycander's Aim, mage Wrath,

Witchwild String. also its very easy to create Harmony or Melody
all basically the same round level 40ish.

so my bet is Harmony or

Lycander's Aim and dualing weapon swap with

Witchwild String, I also have

Wizendraw which could help with frost damage, if upgraded.

what do you think is better for mid-game?

2) stats. it seems for creating a decent bow with runes i need a base which requires around 150 dex and 100str, at least.
when do i put points into vitality, if any? because the thirst for AR is bad in these builds(phys).

3) armor- I can make Fortitude. but it's my only

Lo.
there is Treachery, and now Hustle. also I am afraid to use my only

Lo for Fortitude, if i can abuse it on Ice.
is Peace also worth it for mid-start-game?
4)

Helm, I have Delirium, but i might need something else to counter my sunder charm.

5) end game-no Ice. so hopefully something will turn up that can help me make a Faith or even find an

Eaglehorn or

Windforce.
or find some serious lower cold res stuff that could restat her to full frostmaiden.

If sticking with cold then

Wizendraw is a good option. Harmony will carry you for a bit but I think

Wizendraw is your best bet for cold from listed. Attack speed, cold res for sunder, and huge - cold res to monsters.

That said, have you looked into Mist. I'm not 100% sure if you can make it single player, and the

Cham might be an issue; but if you can it could be great. +3 all skills (up to +6 for your cold skills), 100%

Pierce, 20% IAS and 40 all res.

Dbrunski did a video about it here, although he was cold/fire hybrid.



When it comes to stats, my guess would be put them in vitality. A physical bowazon needs all that dex for damage, but I'm not sure how much physical damage a cold bowa needs. And I'm guessing players 8 hits like a truck.

For armor, I'm leaning towards Treachery. Again I don't know if the ED from fort works for elemental and the extra attack speed frees up some other gear. 100%

Pierce is a must for elementals so you're going to want to run

Razortail rather than needing an increased attack speed

Belt.

Peace is okay, because of the Valk proc. But if you run a Valk in skills you will be recasting whenever she gets proc.

As for helms, if we're wish shopping then

Nightwing's Veil. I found mine in WSK running

Baal runs. Otherwise, am I crazy for thinking

Shako? Mf, health, mana, skills, DR. Doing some diablo/mephy runs should net you that pretty quick. The Delirium should be okay for now, but one alternative for the Delirium is the Manic Pixie Dream Girl from here

And lastly, end game. You say no Ice, why not. You have the

Lo, and if you're hoping for a Faith then you are hoping for a

If you are on single player, you could always hero edit in some gear to test to see what you should be aiming for. Some people call it cheating, I say D2 is enough of a grind, that if I'm going to be grinding for weeks for something I want to know I can use it.

yes, i'm aware of that. never did that. not planning to, at least yet. i can experiment when i get to that level. and restating is cheap.

Dude Harmony is super cheap and it’ll get you through hell - you might need to drop the players count after act 1, but it’ll do it.

Hustle in a bow is even fairly good, but really helps get that

Burst of Speed needed

Stats wise I always put next to nothing into vita for a bowazon, max damage or nothing! If you can run fast and have knockback that’s all you need.

Yea fort is good, definitely wouldn’t be a waste, but chains of honour is good too, Enigma is great to reposition your merc and valk, Duress is great for the price, Treachery is fine too, Lionheart is super great for the price

I made a cold bowazon this ladder. Before Ice, I used

Wizendraw with Harmony on switch. I would focus on +skills and ias on your gear, and I wouldn't make a Fortitude unless you want to switch to a full physical bowazon later.

In my final build, I liked valk wing better than nightwing's. With a 15% ias jewel in your

Helm and Hustle on switch, you can hit the 7 fpa breakpoint with Ice in a mat bow.

Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner, you can make your character out with everything you could want here and see how it would stack up. No grinding required.

Frost / Physical combo for a bowazon is... surprising.

Most people either go to Elemental (then Cold + Fire) or Physical (then

Strafe / Multishot + Frozen Arrow as one point wonder), because the two builds don't synergize very well : on one you want physical damage (any source like jewels), on the other elemental ones (so skills on elemental bow skills).

At some point you probably have to choose between the two, or assume you're making a non optimal hybrid.

Assuming you stay on your current path

For the cold part : I would go with full M'avina set if you can. Cheap (even if as you're self found some parts like the

Diadem may take time to find) and really efficient. As stated, Ice is even better but is indeed damn expensive.

As for the Physical, the choice is really between

Windforce and Faith for most people, Mist and upped

Witchwild String being secondary options.

What you can try : get a full M'avina's and have a physical bow on switch. Not sure it works, but definitely something that can be tested !

Wizendraw is only -25% to cold or so

and also i would need the rune for the second upgrade..but i guess that's not that hard to come by

Are you comparing them vs a Target Dummy with 0% base cold resistance? You should see different results depending on the target you choose.

Not sure I’m using this right, but I tried normal mob and both dropped a lot- but Faith still wins. By 1k difference in DPS
