How do I get a Jah?

3 Jahs in total since d2r launch. First one was from Arcane Sanctuary, number 2 and 3 from Travincal. One of them actualy dropped on my birthday

I would suggest the fastest way is to collect ists and buy your way up. Trade Ist for Vex, Vex to Ohm, etc.

On PSN non ladder:
These prices look about the same as pc, which I found a bit surprising.

Looks like 6ist for Ohm. 10 or 11 Ist for a Lo. Looks like 3 Lo for a Ber. And a Jah looks like anywhere between Ber+ Vex and Ber+ Lo

I got my one and only Jah during the craze of non ladder annis selling unid for Lo+ so I can't be much help beyond the above. If you have some time watch the following videos by MrLlamaSC.

I just found my first Jah in 2 decades of playing just this morning! i built a budget horker barb and horked for a few hours over 2 days and i have never found an area as concentrated for good items (or Gold) as i have in trav. i have farmed almost every other area this season and trav has some really good drops

I play mostly on PSN and Switch but I got the game on PC when it was on sale purely for trading, it was certainly worth it, so much more activity! Across ladder and non ladder I currently have, 1 Ber, 1 Cham, 2 Ohm, 2 Vex, 6 Gul, 4 Ist. I could afford a Jah, but I'd like an Enigma so not sure trading my Ber makes sense.

I just found one in the cow level on ladder.

I played for many many years and I had never had a Jah drop for me. In one month I had two drop: one in cows and one off big D himself. It was wild.

So far today I have traded 40 gems for Ist, 30 jewels for Pul and 3 tokens for Gul. The quest continues...

My first Jah was named "Jo rune" back to 1.07 days, on the trav council. Remember me these good ol' times where this lovely Arkaine's Valor 1.07 was droppable only when running racks.

1) My first Jah ever was dropped from Mephisto (1:50000 chance to drop)

2) If the reward is $1 million dollars... I'd buy 2 extra diablo accounts for my other computers, and run cows on p3/3 (equivalent to p5 drop rate)

You bring up an interesting point about keys too, sell them or farm Ubers? I have something like 28 keys in my stash on Ladder but I do also have a Smiter. To Uber or not to Uber?

It seems like a Trav horker is a good bet, but I do find it a bit dull. More time looking at loading screens than killing councillors!

Ohh nice! ^^ Then you understand the power of liquidity over time and how far we can get with it.

You've brought very nice questions! IIRC (but please, this probably is not 100% accurate), at some moment on Ladder 1 I've seen Jah around 35-ish Ist each or something of the kind.
If we think about it, despite it's a very interesting amount of Ist runes, it's a road you can take at the same time you grind for a Jah. Even if you don't find a Jah in a drop, you can meanwhile trade stuff you find for runes and get your way to Jah faster. No need to get, of course, only Ist runes, as you already know. If Lo = 10-11 Ist and also Lo = Ohm Vex 2 Ist, then finding other runes of course will help you get the equivalent value. ^^

About Ubers, I totally encourage you to take the path to indeed DO Ubers, instead of selling the keysets. Despite bad rolls (worst case scenario) can go up to Ist, most torches I've seen go from Vex/ Ohm to upper like Lo, Sur, a combination of these, or even Jah or Ber. I can bet you'll get more value overall than selling the keysets.
I didn't have (and still currently don't have) a good build for doing Ubers, but a very good one for farming keys. But if I also had a Smiter, like you, I would go undoubtedly through that road. Deploy your weapons with that Smiter!


According horking, I've never had a horker TBH. Maybe one day I'll try it. But I totally get you; in the past I grinded one day farming NM Council for flawless gems, and it was not the most funny thing to do xD But well, AFAIK, horking in Hell Council delivers very good results in the long run.

Gems and jewels seem ok but I usually see 1 Ist per token so Gul (usually 1.5 Ist) for 3 seems low. Vex would seem more appropriate.

I've typically got Ist per token non ladder but the price seems lower on ladder right now, if you look through the recent trades then Gul for 3 looks about right.

Because people have significantly more Wealth (on average) on non-ladder, allowing folks to throw around runes left and right.

Additionally, folks get more bored and switch stuff around more on non-ladder (and/or re-optimize with each new perfect roll piece affecting stats), leading to more respecs, making tokens more desired and hence more expensive.

Ladder and non-ladder tend to deviate on quite a few things and typically, for good reason.

Right. So I suppose the smart thing to do is buy tokens on ladder and sell non ladder, not the other way. Not that I can really be bothered to play the economy in such a way, but I guess that's what people are doing.

If you're ready to wait 4 months until each respec yes. But people who respec that often want optimal builds like PvP players do, and for them an Ist is nothing.

Don't remember who said "poor people trade in pgems, average in Ists, rich in Bers". Quite true.
