I think it might be more for holding on to these runes post-ladder. You can make new 2.4 runewords once ladder ends.

What to do with one Cham rune?

I dozed off farming The Countess yesterday and her minions dropped a Cham along with a unique ring.

Charsi will buy them from you for like 5,000 Gold. That's always an option if you need Gold real quick.

Oh sorry, I only sell to normal Charsi. The NM and Hell versions of Charsi get too fresh with my characters.

But hey, if you don't mind that, 35,000 Gold! Just taking up slots in your stash rn.

thats true, but those RW will be available in ladder only. He doesnt have runes in ladder. so its useless for this purpose.
