What to do with two Cham runes

Hey all,

I'm a bit on the fence about it so I wanted some input from the experts:

RNG has given me two Cham runes this month and now they're sitting in my stash. What would you do with them, since they're not worth a lot? My thoughts are:

a) Use them to socket a merc helmet: This makes the merc much more survivable without needing to run Duriel's Shell as an armor. I can do this even twice with my runes. I could thus switch the armor to a Fortitude and still get CBF.

b) Cube them up to a Zod: Either enables me to make a BOTD or put it in an Eth item. I don't have an immediate use case for this other than an Eth HoZ, but I don't think it's worth the Zod honestly.

c) Sell them: Possible, but they're practically worthless.

d) Wait: 2.4 will change things and possibly make both Zod and Cham more valuable with the new runewords. Not sure if this is really going to be the case. On top, it'll take months until those runewords arrive in non-ladder.

What would you do in my situation? Any cool option I might've missed? Looking forward to hearing some opinions!

I would choose d). There are new runewords that will use Cham. They only take up two slots in the stash, so just keep them for a few months, no biggie.

I'm going with D as well. Since the announcement of new runowrds (especially those with Cham), the price of Cham is going up... I bought 4 on the first day for example...

Always been a fan of (a) myself. Frozen mercs are just sad.

And of course (e) see if you don't want to actually use one for runewords for one of your builds/mercs already (Doom, Pride).

After that, move on to (d).

Don't cube to a Zod if you don't have a specific use for that one yet. All that does is then hope for a future Zod use while removing any potential future Cham use. Only cube if/when you actually need it at that time.

Would be interesting to see if Cham non-ladder value increases alongside ladder value in the coming months. Just knowing that we'll be able to create 2.4 runewords after ladder season is over, I can see demand for Cham going up.

I find the 2 new runewords with Cham a bit underwhelming.
Not sure how much it will increase Cham's value but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Obsession looks pretty cool ( Zod I know, but still would affect Cham demand). I can see this one being an alternative to Heart of the Oak + Spirit combos

Yeah definitely agree about Obsession.

Without doing the math I could see "Mist - Cham + Shael + Gul + Thul + Ith" as a serious option for physical Bowzones

- 20% IAS
- Concentration Aura
- No requirement for Razor
- + a lot of nice add-ons (+6 total skills, 40 res, vit...)

really looking forward to compare it to Windforce DPS

Going a little off topic, but physical bowazon looks promising to start with as a Insight is available with it being a bow runeword for 2.4.

I put one of my Cham into my my Barb's Arreat, so I could remove RavenFrost and the cold damage it adds. Don't want to shatter my enemies so I can yell at more corpses.

My experience with amazon is a bit lacking but the consensus seems to be Windforce + Faith / Faith + Pride is still slightly stronger for bowazon endgame.
Maybe a new build will find some use for it ?

If you need a Zod make a Zod, otherwise wait.

Make a Zod, get a nice Eth Colossus Blade and make a Breath of the Dying

Diamond hand that shit. Like others here have said, the price will go up because of the new rune words after the season is done.

It's already going up I think. I've sold one or 2 on here at Ohm - people may want the Cham for flexibility to make Zod and Cham runewords.

2.4 Runewords are ladder only.
If you can transfer your chams to ladder, they are still "old chams".
