We have Enigma at home - a case for Naj's set for the Warlock

Naj's Puzzler was the first tele item I came across on my mostly SSF Warlock, so I used it in my weapon swap. Never thought much about it, it's a tele stick, great. It was only when I found

Naj's Light Plate (and the terrible

Naj's Circlet which drops all the time) that I realized it's actually a really great weapon for

Echoing Strike. The damage is totally sufficient, never had trouble clearing bosses, TZs, etc. And the set bonuses are phenomenal—75 all res (including the armor's 25), 1.5 mf per level, 12% life, and some other stuff. It also keeps your swap free if you have CTA or other prebuff gear.

When I finally got my Enigma, I expected a huge power spike. But it actually felt... about the same? Sure I didn't have to ration out my tele charges, but the loss of the resistances meant I was dying a lot, meaning another 20-40 min grind to get another decent cursed demon. I tried a bunch of options to get my resistances back up, and the best I found was

Wizardspike. It could still kill (because

Echoing Strike is busted) but my clear rate wasn't really any better than before. It took quite a bit more grinding before I found enough resistances to equip a weapon with actual damage. My MF is still less than it was before.

Anyway, don't sleep on this set if you're struggling with the Enigma grind! You can pick up the whole thing for about the cost of an

Ist.

Ignoring the recharge cost (and hence time lost on collecting vendor loot), naj's has always been a solid pre-Enigma alternative if you happen to find one.
Though I'm not missing it too much on an early lock as

Blade Warp +

Consume run speed make up for a lot.

But more importantly in this case, literally everything is a really great weapon for

Echoing Strike. Even a

Short Sword.
On a more entertaining note, it did make me build stuff I never thought I'd have a valid reason to make... ^^

Can't be bothered actually farming stuff on ladder just to catch the occasional dclone there while otherwise sticking to NL anyways. So locks going full ape on dclone with nothing but the cheapest of runewords and most random of bases ya happen upon..perfect! And completely broken of course but we all know that...

Pul rune is the most expensive thing on the ladder lock and he still out-clones a smiter.
