Is it possible to have to have LOD and ROTW chars at the same time?

Maybe a strange question.
Some of my friends bought the dlc, some don't. If I buy it will I still be able to play with them? What will happen to my stash? Do I get 2 seperate? One for LOD and one ROTW. Like when a season endet, a ROTW char can take Items out of the LOD stash but can only load into the ROTW stash?
Hope you can help me, I want so have this sortet before buying the DLC.

When you buy DLC with existing account at first nothing happens. Your heros can join to the LoD(Expansion) games only.

So when you click lobby you can only see LoD games.

However at the character selection screen at the botom right there is a button to convert a LoD character to RotW. Once converted the *private* stash of this character is also converted and this character cannot join LoD games anymore. In lobby this character is only going to see RotW games.

Also *shared* tab are not converted. Players now have shared stash for LoD separated from the shared stash from RotW. If you want to move the contents of the shared stash in LoD, you can do so via mule characters.

When creating characters you now have 3 opptions:
- Classic
- Expansion
- Reign of the Warlock. - First create char for Lord Of Destruction
- create game
- move the contents of the shared stash to the private stash
- leave the game
- convert the char to RotW
- create new game to move from the private stash to the shared stash.
- delete mule.

Note that you cannot move back from RotW to LoD items or chars
