Hi mates,
it seems all, or at least a lot, of upgraded set armor shows lesser level requirement than they actually have.
Items in inventory/stash show no red background but are unequippable until you reach the actual (hidden) level requirement.
Yesterday I upgraded a Death's Guard to Demonhide Sash to get more pot slots, showed levreq. 24 but i couldn't equip it until 29.
Now i upgraded twice an Angelic Mantle to get "decent" defense, shows 61, my character is 63 and can't equip it.
Reading around I noticed it's a known issue, but is there a way to calculate the actual level requirement of upgraded sets besides trying 'em on every level up and pray?

UPDATE:
I was very blind to not see the notes on Cube Recipes pages, now I understand is base level +5 for upgraded normal set items and base level + 7 for upgraded exceptional set items

there are odd bugs that mix up this mechanic even more (at least in my tiny experience):
Issue 1:Death Guard upgraded to Demonhide Sash.
Shown level requirement is 24 but it's actually 29, fine, 24+5 as indicated in Recipe: Exceptional Version of Set Armor But once equipped (by a level 29 or higher char) shows level rq. 29 WHEN EQUIPPED an 24 WHEN IN STASH or INVENTORY
Issue 2: big mess on double-upgrading Angelic Mantle to Diamond Mail. Even the known issue is messed up, the armor indicates level req. of 61 (should show 54 actually requiring a 66) If equipped by a higher level character still shows 61 whether it's equipped or put in stash/inventory (unlike the Sash)

base Diamond Mail is 54
twice upgraded Angelic Mantle shows 61 and requires higher lever (still don't know how much)

Define "shows". Shows where? On the item in-game? Or when looking at the data for the base excep/elite version here or on other sites?
If the latter, that's not a bug. The lvl req won't typically be the same as the base elite as the set itself adds to that, resulting in a lvl req higher than a White version of the base elite would have.
If the item in-game shows 24 but is 29..then yeah, that's certainly a bug.
Ok thanks i just read the note, so it's +5 for nor to exc and +7 for exc to elite..
I upgraded Angelic Mantle twice thoug, i hope it will be 68 (61+7) and not 73 (61+5+7)..

There is a bug, if you see just the 54+7 for a total of 61.
If you get a PM offer, post it in the trade. Promote healthy competition instead of settling for less.

The item in inventory or stash (both private/shared tabs) shows 24 and looks equippable by a level 24 (no red background) but it's unequippable until level 29.

Ok i think i understood the bug, in this case..
Anyway it's strange, i checked now and even more odd things happened:
1. NOW Death's GuardDemonhide Sash shows reqlev 29 when equipped and 24 when in stash
didn't notice when this happened, but i wanted to check, so i tried Angelic MantleDiamond Mail on a higher level character aaand...
2. DIDN'T WORK, my lvl 92 Necro CAN equip it but the shown level requirement is still 61 wether equipped or in inventory/stash..
3.very buggy
I can confirm this when i first discovered the discrepancy.
Here's my first OG DeathSash upgraded via the set cube formula. This was created back when set upgrade can be done. Now it's been relegated to the NL populance.
Clvl req is 24 !
Currently moving on to Path Of Exile 2 - Always looking for ORBS. PM if you wish to trade.

it's very odd, in your screenshot the Sash is in inventory and shows 29, mine only when equipped, for the dual upgraded Angelic Mantle the situation is even more messed up (update on main post)
..and no, didn't find a Jalal's Mane to get decent res, but at least i found Emilio!
