Trying to do Ubers with Melee Chars

As said and as others also mentioned, I would highly recommend that.
Btw, I also do not rely on my merc, but if you kill Mephisto and Diablo first you can Revive him and against Baal he should stand a chance if he has some good gear (you can check my DClone/Uber setup here: https://maxroll.gg/d2/d2planner/4g8kr05e#2). Anyway, having his Conviction even for some time at the beginning of the fight can be very helpful.

I have sort of a budget merc, he has Infinity in a regular non- Eth Thresher( a mistake i made when i just started out), Tal Rasha's headpiece, and Eth Fortitude in a Balrog Skin. Should be close enough, ill see how long he survives

Update:

I got my 3x3 Keyset just now and did my first uber run with this Frenzy barb.

He is level 86, and he did pretty well, clearing Uber Izual, Uber Duriel and Lilith very easily, and even Uber Mephisto and diablo.


The real issue came when i went to do Baal because he summoned a crap ton of physical immune monsters, and some of those floating ghost things. They leeched my mana and eventually i just had to take them down one by one with Berserk.

Everything was going pretty well with Uber Baal and he had literally, im not joking, the tiniest sliver of hp but after that, somehow i wasn't hitting him and he started healing. shortly after, my Life Tap ran out and didn't proc again, and... I died.

I tried a few more times with the same results, surprisingly. Does anyone know if his defense skyrockets when he's low hp or something? I was so close to killing him but he just keeps healing.

In the end i needed my assassin(once again) to finish the job.

But hey, I do get the achievement of beating all the uber bosses(other than Baal) without using any full rejuvenation potions!

Uber Baal has Chilling Armor Level 37 which will increase his defend by +225% pushing defense from 3150 to 10237 with a 6 min duration.

He maybe used this so you struggled to hit him.

What's your AR ?

If you had 8K AR with a lvl 86 char, you have 38.4% of chance to hit him with Chilling Armor effect.
Uber Baal is also blocking 55% of you hits.
So, that's only 25% of your attacks that may hit him.

It may also be your Enchant ended.

Enchant is mandatory. Demon Limb is the easiest way to prebuff with it.

6K is way to low. 10 max dmg 50 AR grand charm could boost it at a low cost.

Hi, I dont read all and hope my message wont be too repetitive.
I got a Frenzy Barb who can solo the Uber.

With not a too much expensive gear.

For weapon Grief and Lawbringer
Armor Duress
Helmet Areat Face
Glove IoH
Boots Gorekiller
Amu Highlord Wrath
Raven Frost ring and a life and mane leech

The most important is to have the weapon who cast Enchant level 23 with Demon Limb. And to proc the buff with Treachery runeword.

With that you will have enough Attack rating and resist to kill Mephisto quick by drinking few Rejenerative Potion.

Dispacth them and kill them one by one. Keeping Meph for the last.

MMmmhh, most guides say Mephisto first if you can lure him by the top side of Uber Tristram. In any case, alone.
