People refer to 'points' for yellow rings. What attributes = points?
Edit: Does this guide explain points accurately? forums/rare-ring-guide-for-dummies-ladder-t883855.html

Can be used to make Runewords:

Google it - so you basically look at the max possible number of affixes/suffixes and their maximum.
FCR 10%, 20 Str, 15 dex, 11 res, 9 rep life, single res 30, mana 90, life 40, min DMG 9, 120 attack rating
If it rolls max or a little below it's 1 point, arbitrarily some value below is half a point. It doesn't mean a 5 point ring is more valuable than a 4 point ring by default though.

OP
Thanks that makes sense...I think I'm still somewhat lost on the attributes themselves. Like what is a useless attribute versus awesome? I would think all res is better than single res 30 but I'm sure I'm missing something.xigua wrote: 1 year agoGoogle it - so you basically look at the max possible number of affixes/suffixes and their maximum.

That mainly depends on what you are after or if you are looking for stuff to sell then what someone else might be looking for. Some people, like me, absolutely adore dual res rings especially for off-meta hybrids/multiclass. On the other hand, all res, FCR and dual leech is something most people value above everything else. But even something like a singular res with high stats ring can go for some quite decent price...
All in all, it depends on the players. But also something simple like 40% MF could be very interesting for a person or two...

Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."
60-100% of the stat roll range is considered 1 point. 30-59% is .5 points. 0-29% is zero points. Dual leech is also considered 1 point.xigua wrote: 1 year agoGoogle it - so you basically look at the max possible number of affixes/suffixes and their maximum.

I'm willing to accept other forms of currency. Like Tokens, Keys, Perfect Gems, and certain minor runes in lieu of my asking price. I'm also willing to accept rune combinations that add up to my asking price.
What is useful? Different ways of looking at it: everything is life fits many, 15 dex = 15 vit = xy life, 9rep Life over a normal duel xy life, with res a little more abstract but 30% res = xy life in a duel vs that skill...
All of the results on google are people asking about this and being told to google it.xigua wrote: 1 year agoGoogle it - so you basically look at the max possible number of affixes/suffixes and their maximum.

A rare ring can have 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes. Best of the prefixes are 1-90mana\3-11allres\5-30single res\10-120attack rating (less desirably ones are 5-10mf\1maek...), while the best of the suffixes are 10FCR\1-20str\40life\1-15dex\2-9mindam\2-6ml\3-8ll\3-9replife... (less desireable ones are mf\maxdam...)gatorized wrote: 4 months agoAll of the results on google are people asking about this and being told to google it.xigua wrote: 1 year agoGoogle it - so you basically look at the max possible number of affixes/suffixes and their maximum.

a 6 point ring means it has 3 prefixes and 3 affixes (not necessarily good ones, or good rolls, so it doesn't mean much)
For example a top hybrid sin/bvc ring is something like that: 3 prefixes: 90mana, 11allres, 120attack rating. 3 suffixes: 10FCR, 15dex, 40life
A top necro ring is something like: prefixes: 90mana, 11allres, 30lightres. suffixes: 10FCR, 40life, 9replife (or 20str)
However, this one is also a 6pt ring, yet it's pretty much useless: 3 prefixes: 8%ctc lvl5 Chain Lightning on attack, +50poi dam over 3sec, +5max stamina. 3 suffixes: dr1, 5mf, 2light radius

This is not true. You only get a point for valuable/desired affixes ( FCR, str, dex, life, mana, ar, rep life, all res, single res, min dmg, and dual leech)uuee wrote: 4 months agoa 6 point ring means it has 3 prefixes and 3 affixes (not necessarily good ones, or good rolls, so it doesn't mean much)
That is considered a 0pt ring. You cannot consider just any affix as a point.uuee wrote: 4 months agoHowever, this one is also a 6pt ring, yet it's pretty much useless: 3 prefixes: 8%ctc lvl5

Still, for those who understand affixes, this whole definition is "pointless"
I completely agree with you. I made this exact point in a recent post on a price check. You can have actual desired affixes on a ring but if they are all over the place, you can have a 4 point ring be way more valuable than a 5 point ring. Just because the affixes work together and for a specific build.uuee wrote: 4 months agoI guess you are right.Knappogue wrote: 4 months agoThis is not true.
