Thorns berzerk barb?

So I just finished up a massive mfing binge and now am looking for some runes. I did some cow runs, some

Lower Kurast runs but I know sooner or later I’ll end up at trav.

I already have a decent set-up for a berzerk horker, but it’s a bit tedious, and I remembered I how your def goes to zero when zerking, and how I also found a well rolled demonhorn’s Edge and have a neato

Spike Thorn, could thrown on a

Razortail, then maybe use a

Thorns merc, maybe even use a Rift for

Iron Maiden charges.

Ideally armour probably would be a Bramble, but I don’t have those runes yet.

Anyways anyone ever tried this or a similar set-up?

Would it even be worth it over a standard trav horker?

No, you'll kill everything with zerk before

Thorns does even one zerks worth of damage.

Thorns is just no good, unfortunately.

Just speculating here.
If you were to play a throw barb with dual

Lacerator, wear Bramble and have a

Prayer merc with Insight and Cure the

Thorns might be somewhat effective in certain areas.
I haven't tried it but it might be possible for you and your merc to out-heal say any flayers who one or two-shot themselves in player1.
It might also work in cows, but elites would require a quick finger and a bunch of rejuvs.
You then can of course switch to zerking when everything is amped from your lacerators.

Thorns only damage working with a necro with

Amplify Damage but I'm not sure it's possible to match the health pool of summons with health regeneration/leech.
