This is a great candidate for a

Sol Rune to make one of the best defensive shields in the game. Flat 'damage reduced by' can be stacked to provide better physical protection that 'damage reduction %' (which is capped at 50%). If you can pair this shield with the right items, you can considerably nullify the threat of physical damage dealing enemies.
