Description

Hi, i wish there were some way to manually squelch players, other than if they have commented in your trades. I dont even want to browse the trade markets because everyday there are the same listings by one or two persons who basicly pick it up everything from the Ground and list them here.

Though i have tried to make some trades with specific users but they always asking the moon from the sky, and they literally have several pages of stuff for sale, and its pretty annoying to browse the same stuff everytime you take a look at the market.

I just wish you could just open users profile and squelch them there just pushing the button, and never have to see their trade listings again.

It would give new breath for trading, for me at least.

Thank you, appreciate your work in hosting the site!

You can now hide other players' listings in your marketplace view by squelching them, as of 1.37. A squelch button is also available on their profiles.

I definitely see where you're coming from. I've had the same problem (or..annoyance rather) initially.

One thing I would recommend for now is to familiarize yourself with more advanced trade searches. For example, say you're looking for a perfect
Harlequin Crest
and get tired of the countless other listings that never change, you can hybrid-search for "
Harlequin Crest
(141|max|maximum|perfect)" to severely limit the results you get to only those likely more applicable to your needs.

You can use the same mechanics to effectively filter out known "moon from the sky" asks as you called them by for example adding a "-
Ber
" to get rid of folks asking for a
Ber
in their posts.

Though you do want to use all of that with caution (especially the - part) as it may have unintended side effects if not done just right. :)

We had a similar discussion about this recently: feedback/blocking-a-user-s-posts-t845896.html

I think you're the 4th-5th person to mention this now and starting to look like something I will definitely need to do before ladder hits to keep people happy.

I'm going to make a few test trades now on a test account - his name is TyraelSword.
Please can you visit your Squelch settings in your UCP, and enter TyraelSword into the brown box, then hit Submit.
These are the steps ^ to squelch someone without having to get them to comment on your listings.

This will of course hide all their comments on your listings, but I know that's not what is being requested here. What is being requested is that none of their listings show up anywhere on the site if you have squelched them.

Let me know in here when you've done that, then I can mirror the database to a test environment and see if there is anything I can do to build the requested functionality on top of what already exists.

What I will aim to do is ensure that listings made by people you have squelched aren't returned in Recent trades (/trade), Browse Trades, Find Trades (search results), and DB entry pages. That would at least cover all the bases for not having to see shitty trades spamming up your searches in most places.
