You don't have to use Ethereal items for Trav survival because the majority of damage is Fire and Lightning. I currently have mine with
Guardian Angel,
Kira's Guardian and
The Reaper's Toll. My merc rarely dies unless he gets ganged up on from Fanatasism or
Conviction Aura's.

All of those items are not expensive to trade right now.

I was using those three items, but I got rid of Reaper's Toll because the mercenary was shattering enemies with the cold damage and not allowing me to hork them. My merc does live MOST of the time.
Tomb Reaver has a lot of all res so Kira's isn't needed (hence the switch to
Crown of Thieves), but the
Decrepify proc on
The Reaper's Toll is sorely missed.

Ah, frozen didn’t matter for my Hammerdin. Kira’s is still good for the “cannot be frozen” though.
Tomb Reaver makes more sense for you. Throw a couple
Amn runes for life steal and maybe a good ED% jewel.

... And I realized tonight that the skeletons
Tomb Reaver raises prevent me from horking the body. So I killed off my merc. I'm not 100% sure it applies to the council members, but I think it does because I've seen the skeletons wandering around from time to time. Though, it's possible those came from
Vampire adds, not sure. Maybe I could up this 3OS
Eth Hone Sudan that's been in my inv for the last 3 months and give it to my merc.

This is getting insane. Yet another. So that's... 3rd
Sur rune in like.. 3 to 5 hours of runs? I don't keep track of time.

Am I getting extremely lucky, or is
Travincal just High-Runes-R-Us? Also got an
Ohm there before the streak of
Sur's started.

Well, did you get anything else good? Valuable jewels/charms/rings are very common- at least compared to just about any other activity.

a lots of charms but no good ones since the last one posted here
that's what I was pointing out, for me I can't see a real difference yet with other "good" places like CS or PIT or even COWS (speaking for runes)

Everyone's got their lucky spots. I've done a lot of trav, got a
Jah and some other decent HRs from there, but
Baal runs have given me the best drops with 5 Jahs in the last month or so from random monsters in WSK.

When I'm not slaying demons, I'm usually out hiking mountains.

I haven't kept track of my total runs or time spent, but I have been doing runs from level 82-(almost) level 88.

Highest runes I have found is a
Vex, a
Gul and a few
Ist.

Now, I have found a few decent charms that I have also traded, and have traded many
Perfect Gems and
Ral.

In the end, I'm going to guess I have about 30-35
Ist worth of currency from all of those runs

I must be due for a huge run of HRs because it definitely seems like others have much better luck.

I read every post in this thread and I am here to brag: On average I play maybe one hour a day, 3-5 games,
Baal run, Chaos, trav, pindle. The best rune I got it
Ohm, in WSK. 2nd to best is
Mal. Then I decide to make a CTA. Guess what? 6/6/2!

How do you track how many runs you've done?

I made a small counter program: when I click on a specific
Key it automatically increments the counter (+time spent)

so I can track multiples characters / types of runs
I still can miss a few runs but it's fairly easy/reliable enough ...

Sur (and a few items that sold for mid runes)
I'll try to reach 2500 runs but not quite impressed so far !
