Can be used to make Runewords:

I think it might be more for holding on to these runes post-ladder. You can make new 2.4 runewords once ladder ends.

Cham rune?

I dozed off farming
The Countess yesterday and her minions dropped a
Cham along with a unique ring.

Gold. That's always an option if you need

Oh sorry, I only sell to normal
Charsi. The NM and Hell versions of
Charsi get too fresh with my characters.

thats true, but those RW will be available in ladder only. He doesnt have runes in ladder. so its useless for this purpose.
