Also worthy of note is the 15% Fire Absorb - being paired with high fire resist or Vex rune and other +max % fire resist gear can greatly reduce fire damage taken and in some cases make it negligible.
Furthermore, Dwarf Star has a flat "Magic Damage Reduced" value that is significantly higher than what can be obtained on its nearest in-slot competitor, the Safety Ring (which caps at a mere 4). This can be a substantial benefit to Sorceresses relying on Energy Shield.
