Hello sir,

Would it be feasible to decrease the bump timer from 6hr to somewhere between 2-4 hours? Or is it at 6 for traffic/load reasons?

Thank you for your time.

If I may ...

From where I am standing a "Bump Limit" of 6 hours simply makes sure that new posts in busy areas can get some exposure. Imagine you could bump, for example, a
Shako
trade every 2 hours. New posts would get flooded off to posting Nirvana within minutes because all those 128 old
Shako
posts would bump their trades every 2 hours. A higher limit simply makes sure posts can get seen. Which number is "perfect" is most likely a question of how many new posts in busy areas are seen in a given time. From there you pick an avg. That should work AND keep site load a bit in check. I would actually suggest setting the Limit higher, not lower. But that's just me :)

Curious what the master has to say about this as well ;-)

Posts get buried within literal seconds on this site, in minutes even for a specific item since we get tens of thousands of trades a day. Your post will get buried most of the time even if the bump timer was only 15 minutes. But since people are ready to trade now people will also continue to post "bump" and other unnecessary comments to artificially boost their trades anyways because the bump timer is far too long imo. I think if the timer was reduced it would cut down on this behavior as well as reduce the amount of trades that are missed due to the long wait.

I also think people write Bump, because they don't know the button exists ^^ (e.g. me for some time) I'm quite fine with the current period to bump posts, if that's an okay standpoint to take in this conversation :D

Good point.

Thats true. But ive been reviewing reports on this site since trade started and 90% of the time when i we see people posting "bump" excessively its around every 2-3hr since the last bump or comment. Sure a few people got reported for doing it every 5 min but they don't seem to be the norm. I think it could benefit from at least a slight reduction so you have more chances per day to get your items seen.

Pretty much no trade ive ever posted got a single view or comment after the first 20 min of posting or a bump. And if you don't respond to that buyer within 5-10 min tops, there's a 100% chance he traded someone else already. lol
