Can be used to make Runewords:

Depends. Have you checked the IAS calculator here to see if itll push you to the next breakpoint? https://d2.lc/IAS/
If it does, then yes use a Shael, if not, then your options are Eth for -25% enemy defence, Amn for 7% life leech or maybe Um for Open Wounds.
I wouldn't waste any HRs in there if that's what you're asking.

You can use Shael if you really need to hit the 60% IAS breakpoint. Zeal needs 60% total IAS with Berserker Axe. Usually, you can hit that 60% IAS breakpoint through other options such as gloves (20% IAS), Highlord's (20% IAS), and/or jewels (15% IAS). Like BillyMaysed said, don't bother wasting high runes in it. A high ED Eth one would be worthy of a Zod rune, though.
OP
awesome TY both for the replies, the weapon itself has 40% and i have 20% gloves with 10% ias on my Belt as well so if im not mistaken im at max breakpoint.
You can drop the Belt for something more favorable. On a Zealer, I would recommend a String of Ears. I'm assuming you are currently wearing a Nosferatu's Coil. With String of Ears, you could make up for the loss in life leech. Verdungo's is another option, but I would only recommend it for PvP or a PvM build that already has plenty of life leech or uses Life Tap. The other important aspect of String of Ears and Verdungo's is the damage reduction % stat (up to 15% on those belts). Damage reduction is quite an important stat (especially for melee) as it makes a big difference in damage taken and can be stacked up to a 50% Cap. Playing a melee build with very low damage reduction can leave you extremely squishy. For that reason, I highly recommend having at least 40% but 45-50% is ideal.
