Is bowazon fun and good?

pretty self explanatory. i have a lightning javazon, but i have a ton of bowzon gear dropping lately. Ive never used ranged weapons on ay character in 20 years

One of my favorite chars to play. It's very subjective though, but several players around here rate their zon, should be bow ones or jav ones to be very fun to play. And you can even choose between

Windforce and Faith (or even

Witchwild String) as a main bow if you wanna go physical, or even others (M'avin'a set, Ice) if you want to go the elemental route.

Pretty fun, yeah.

I had a

Strafe amazon on the PS4, which used

Buriza-Do Kyanon

Crossbow. Super fast attack speed, she was like a tower in a tower defence game. Stands still and shoots

Arrows at everything. But once I got her an amazon torch (in offline) she started proccing

Firestorm all the time, one after the other, which lowered the fps to like 2, making the game unplayable.

So I respecced to Freeze Amazon. The build is safe because you freeze your targets. The skill explodes, dealing AOE damage. The only problem was that the skill uses way too much mana. Even with using an Insight runeword bow, I had mana issues. If the skill gets buffed in the future, and by buff I mean reduce the mana usage, then the build would be fun. Though I saw people using items with mana after kill, so you could try that.

If it is the Explosion Arrow you want to try, then I recommend using either

Kuko Shakaku bow or

Demon Machine

Crossbow... with a sorceress. The enchantress is a better explosion arrow amazon than the amazon herself. Fun build.

For me playing a bow character is fun, because you need to keep your distance from monsters, shoot and run. So your survival depends on your skill as a player and not on your stats like defence, damage reduction, resistance, life leech, like on the barbarian. The barbarian is fun too and requires skill to survive, but the bow amazon (or sorceress) is a different kind of fun.

Yes it's fun. No it's not good, not without Faith or at least Fortitude.

Fun when you play open area non boss fight.
It might be best.

I have one full with max dam and Faith, dual Last Wish merc. It is soso when fight boss, even non tz hell

Was my first lvl 99 so yes I had fun with her.

Mavina set is cheap and pretty good , also very safe as you freeze everything on an Ice build

phys bowazon is pretty fun, if u enjoy sitting behind a meatshield and laying waste to everything. It's got great AOE, the best tank in game (if u prebuff ur Valk to level 27-30 or more she becomes rediculous) but it's also pretty repettitive, weapon reliant, glass cannon

Ur ed is much better in LOD with 400% synergies but it's still the lowest in game like Wolf,

Zeal,

Whirlwind, so A2 might is mandatory, Fortitude is your most wanted item, ravenfrost is core as well.

Windforce, Faith,

Eaglehorn, buriza all good, options
even simple Insight colosus

Crossbow, Harmony weapon may suffice to clear hell

Iratha's set is amaizing for the sheer resistances for entering hell.

Arctic Gear, (as you can basically avoid your first respec and bank points till lvl 24 straife)
Vindala's, Saigons,

Bloodfist items are also great, normal/nightmare

I had one with GG gear and it was no fun at all for me. It might be very different for you though, it's a matter of taste.

But you basically run until there are enemies on the horizon and

Strafe until everything is dead, then you continue running and repeat. Sometimes enemies reach Emilio but most often they don't.

Not that other chars are super challenging but Bowa is even less of a challenge and the slow

Teleport is annoying, esp. if you are used to a telestomping sorc.

You can argue that it's the same for other chars as well, but e.g. a Java needs good positioning to be most effective. Bowa does not need that.

As others have said, fun is subjective. If it were me and I dropped enough GG gear from my other chars I'd be curious to try it out. Still have yet to come across a

Windforce and if I did then for sure I'd try it.

In terms of "good", I haven't really played Bowazon but my guess is they're not that good compared to other chars in the physical damage department such as FoH smiter,

Frenzy Barb, or ES Warlock (although admittedly that one's OP as fuck).

Probably hard to get resistances up similar to Spearzon/LSzon, which also suffers from glass cannon syndrome. Amazons also require an absurd amount of FCR to have anything better than what I would call "abysmally slow" cast speed. Amazon with 99% FCR is equal to paladin/necro/warlock with only 30% or sorc/barb with only 10%.

I made Faith and Chains of Honor for my Bowazon and Pride for merc. But it is like a duel . You see mobs first -they are dead. Ranged mobs saw you first -you are dead.
I did plenty

Baal runs with her. You need to wipe everything out and only then proceed.
Good position in go for valkyre and

Decoy are essential. Especially when facing pack of souls. when you in the threne room,

Baal waves are just washed away.
Her gear is ok, but charms in the inventory are meh. Glass cannon as it is. I managed to craft her

Safety Gloves for

Arachnid Lair.
Overall feeling: don't worth runes spent. Good point:all gear her can be used on other chars or mercs.

If you compare with the top builds, and those top builds are "fun" to you, then u may be disappointed.

If you based fun factor under the influence of Streamers, then look away.

But if you wanna give bow a shot, why not?

A-tier Mosaic, smiter
B-tier javzon,

Nova-sorc,
C-tier bar any good build, =========bow-zone========, sheft-shaft druid, foh/ham din, fire/cold sorc
D-tier trap, Bone/p nec,

Zeal/sac din
E-tier summon nec, bar hooker
F-tier e-druid


Bottom geared each rank have similar strength to the other top geared lower rank... like Mosaic bottom roll vs top javzon, strength is similar.

Physical bowazon is super fun, she is built different. Also, leveling up a bowazon is pretty fun if you collect a bunch of different bows to mess with along the way. You can try out frost/fire skills as well along the way.

Strafe is a big turnoff for a lot of people trying the bow zon, personally I dislike it too, so try out multi shot before you write off the bow zon, its perfectly viable and even excels

Strafe in many situations.

Also be aware that bow zon is one of those builds that take off and come together once some

Key pieces are in place. Just like a ES sorc or a lightning pala you can't just make the skillbuild and expect things to start happening.

I find a starfezon a lot of fun and they're excellent at certain tasks. For instance, when sunders used to drop from any TZ without having to engage Heralds, I used my strafezon to farm TZ Travinca because she could easily clear the council in under a minute. As a result I had anywhere from 2 to 5 sunder drops on a single run. She's also not the glass cannon than many believe.

Seeing something is better than hearing about it.

Before D2R I did an

Immolation Arrow/

Freezing Arrow Bowazon and I enjoyed it though it did get slow in hell compared to sorc or even a fully geared
