Description

It may sound stupid, but do I have to own 2 copies of game to play together with my boyfriend (only me and him, no other players). We live together and he owns pc and I have a laptop.

Yes. In legacy d2 there was a TCP/IP option (so it was possible to play in a local network) but it's gone in d2r, so you both have to have separate accounts and play online.

If you try to log in on two different devices using the same account, one of the game instances will kick you out.
