Description

Hi

I saw a guide suggesting to use on swap
Call To Arms + Phoenix
instead of the more typical
Call To Arms + Spirit
and swap between fights (in special when you are analysing/collecting loot), to recover mana/life.

(The guide in the case was for a Javazon)

Did someone try or use this setup?
(with any build)

It seems to me that you will end up slowing you down... (at least more than sporadically collecting and use some potions.) 🤔🤔

If CTA + Phoenix is the swap, what are they recommending as primary? I've got Titans + Phoenix as primary and CTA + Spirit on swap.

Is the guide suggesting Titans + Spirit as primary and CTA + Phoenix as swap? I can see the DPS benefit, but personally I like to play lazy. Swapping to CTA every couple of minutes is already painful enough for me. I don't want to swap to Phoenix every time I need mana. Which would be all the time since Emilio rocks Infinity and not Insight.

Primary suggested was
Titan's Revenge
+ Spirit.

Phoenix on primary, I already saw some people using/recommending as "quality of life improvement" (if you can manage lose Spirit's bonus).

But on swap was the first time...

Lightning Fury
already does so much damage that I was more than willing to give up the +2 skills from Spirit for the QoL improvement that Phoenix gives. Best move I made for the javazon. I'll never go back to Titan's + Spirit on primary.

I'm using
Eth
Titan's + Phoenix on primary. I've played around with a second
Eth
Titan's + Spirit, and CTA and Spirit on swap, but neither has really been needed.

Please post offer in item trade before adding me on Bnet, I'm in EST time zone (E Coast U.S)

May try Phoenix on primary 🤔, but with my current build, I'm more worried in lose Spirit Resistances than the +2 skill...
(On the other hand... with a Phoenix Shield, I may swap
Silkweave
for a resist
Boots
🤔🤔)

I use CoH or Treachery (depends on my mood) for my armor since I don't enjoy teleporting with my javazon. Res from CoH and Res from
Fade
proc from Treachery are more than plenty. I don't use Enigma just because its annoying AF on the java since the FCR is already so low. I'd rather boost my Faster Run/Walk. Since she primarily farms cows, I don't need
Teleport
anyways.

The Phoenix Shield restores life and mana faster than you have need for it. As soon as you knock down a mob with lighting Fury, the shield begins redeeming all of them. Earlier I ran Nilathak's Temple for the entire hour and I never used a single potion. Thanks to
Charged Strike
during the run my Titan's stack remained between 170 and 180, and when I finished it was at 180. I have never had to use my second Titan's.

While I don't "telewalk", I like to have
Teleport
available for when I need to cross big distances or to "cheat" the map 😉
(and Enigma has other good affixes 🤗 - mf, frw, laek...)

I've tried using an Enigma on my Javazon but outside of running mazy maps like
The Forgotten Tower
, and Catacombs it really doesn't do much. Like Nappogue I use COH for armor, but not Treachery.

I use Treachery for fun when Im bored. The IAS boost is great for cows and a total blast. CoH is definitely my primary.

As for the swap, I don't see the point of Phoenix, as you lose the +2 skills to boost BC/BO.

I no longer use a CTA at all because BC and BO aren't needed, they don't serve a purpose. The Phoenix shield is so quick at restoring mana and life that both the red and blue balls are almost always completely full. That being said BO works as well on swap as it does on main. The Phoenix shield makes the build.

I was ignoring Phoenix shield for long years. I was so so wrong, the best shield for my fire sorc!
7
Totally agree with knappogue. Moving to phœnix is amazing. 0% of going back to Spirit on primary ! I use with Enigma. No problem with rEs because of fire absorb (phœnix) cold (
Raven
) light (tgods) poison (Cure)

Even if you does not absorb elemental dmg. You kill everything fast and from a far distance so it is safe

I started to test
Phoenix +
Natalya's Soul
+ 15@ grand charm
instead of
Spirit +
Silkweave
+ Skiller grand charm

My resistances ended up being better 🙂
75/75/75/44 -> 85/74/80/35
and walk speed too (105 -> 115)

My lightning damage was reduced ~13% (20% in the case of
Charged Strike
considering less
Bolts
...) 🙁

But I'm feeling a big increase in quality of life 🤗🤗
The farm is way smooth 😉
No need to use (or collect) potions anymore, and life/mana is always full 😛

OBS: I had the luck to roll L15
Redemption
on my Phoenix 😉 But read on others threads that
Redemption
level on Phoenix makes no much difference in practice 🤔

Your lightning damage decreased a little but remember the shield also gives "+350-400% Enhanced Damage," which is a little like having an extra Fortitude armor which gives +300% Enhanced Damage.

Did my "throw" and "stab" damage increase?
yes...
But their participation on my overall damage is insignificant...

Almost all damage from Javazon comes from the skill's effect, and the
Bolts
from
Charged Strike
,
Lightning Strike
and
Lightning Fury
deal only the skill Lightning damage.
So as all my
Bolts
are dealing less damage now with my skills decreasing from 35 to 32, my overall damage is reduced on the same proportion 😓
