Description

can i farm for jewels/charms with zero mf?

iirc the game chooses which base to drop, then applies mf. if the item has no plain base, it should default to magic, so mf should not matter to charms etc...

any one know if this is right?

Of course you can, I would try Cows for jewels and charms, and
Arcane Sanctuary
for the same reason

you are correct.

Magic find improves the chances that the item that dropped will roll up as a Magical item. It won't make more items drop.
For example, if a dropped item has been programmed with 10% chance of being Magic quality, 5% chance of being Rare, having 100% increased Magic Find means that it will now have a 20% chance of dropping as Magic and 10% chance of being Rare.

Well, you're semi-correct.

MF won't give you "more charms" or "more jewels". That's determined by the base roll which MF has no effect on.

MF will however affect the odds of that charm being magic vs.
Gheed
's or a jewel being magic vs. rare vs. facet.
