Just found out about this trick and am curious if most of u guys do it for Chronicle search or not

It only makes sense to use this easter egg if you intend on staying in the game for a while because the process of triggering it can take some time. So it would be good if you intend on terrorizing an entire game.
I personally don't use it, for chronicle i think waiting for an act boss TZ to roll around and farming that for 30 minutes with like 200% MF yields better odds, but that's my personal opinion.

I know what it is and I don't do. But not because it is "cheese", it's legit, but it's just very annoying to do. This should be a fourth option, imo.
I don't think that T5 heralds can compete with the TZ act bosses in regards to finding uniques for the Chronicle. Only in regard to sunders, of course. For that I try to activate this Easter Egg, to compensate the low pace with increased MF provided by this trick.
That's why I made the referenced post a few days ago, similar with yours.
I use a shard and keep on grinding.

I tried twice to do a souls dance (quite easy in swapmy pits).
I feel no difference between my 350 base mf and 4000+ added with souls. Also ties you to a game.
Overall i got feeling that just spam tz act bosses, or even basic act bosses if u are below 90%, will net u much more uniqs over session

For example, going from 300% to 4200% only increases unique drops by 42%.

I think most people doing this annoying MF Easter egg combine a full clear of all five acts with the hunting of T5 heralds for sunders. They want to get sunders and as many items for their Chronicles as possible while spawning the heralds.
Sure but only if I'm clearing a lot of the game. It's annoying to set up (sort of), and sometimes it doesn't even help (magic find is just luck at the end of the day). You do get noticeably more uniques, and now with heralds having better drops, I have noticed more from them too.

I do with full cleans on my blizz sorc - my main goal for now is to get her to lvl 99 (I'm on 7/10ths through 98), but since she's a glass cannon, and each Death SUCKS BALLS HARD at this stage, I went into full survivability at the cost of MF (I have around 140 ATM). But, since full(ish) TZ clean takes me a good few hours, I don't mind spending a few minutes on stting up the trick.
Especially since I'm missing only Tyrael's, Mang Song and Stormlash for my OG Grail (I'm missing few more for my Chronicle, but I suppose I'm gonna get everything else long before I get these three).

I found a Zod and two Tyrael's Might - to list the most rare items - but I'm yet to find Blinkbat's Form and Hotspur.
