I don't know if this is common sense, but I noticed that the best way to deal with dolls in the throne room is to Teleport directly on the throne. First, the AI of the dolls is so clumsy that they most of the time simply keep standing beside the throne and I can melt them without problems. And second, if a few make it up to the throne, my merc then mostly stands before me and blocks them.
Anyway, since I am doing it this way I never died because of dolls in this location. Maybe this helps someone else, too.

Can be used to make Runewords:
After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)

Online workdays: casually from 07:00-09:00 pm

Or just Teleport a few steps away from them instead of right on top. That way, your merc moves towards them as they move to you, they meet about half-way, explosions don't reach you and your merc doesn't get hurt by them. -> Dolls rendered harmless.
Though that does require an A2/5 merc so they actually reliably move towards them.

Yeah I just tele and move back and let the merc tank them. He doesn't take massive damage like we do from their deaths.
