best boots for cold sorc

opinions?

Cold sorc are mainly use for mf; so my guess would either be War Traveler, or good tri-res Boots with mf on them.

With any char, you can't really go wrong with War Traveler

As ever so often, on the surface a "simple" question - yet often impossible to answer without a minimum of context?

To help you answer the question, we need to know:

1. What is your budget?

2. Will there be changes to your gear along the way? (Is this your endgame Boots and is your other gear "locked in")


The best Boots you can get - if budget is of no concern:

A. Tri-Res Boots. 30 FRW 10 FHR 3 x 3x RES (For dps - leveling - surviving)

B. WarTravler - if you are aiming for MF

C. For Energy Shield build - Silkweave is the obvious choice

D. Crafted Boots

Then Silkweave is the choice for you - at this point.

+5 MAEK and 10% mana pool will benefit you greatly.

Cold Sorc is not a very mana intensive build, so Silkweave is probably overkill. And for ES, just +5 per enemy is not as good as it looks, dangerous heavy-hitting monsters will still kill you quickly.

Why do you want to go ES with Cold? That is quite uncommon, ES makes most sense with lightning. With ES, you want Boots with frw, poison res and/or poison length reduction and mana ( Caster Boots).

For Cold life builds, WarTravs is a good choice or any good rare Boots with stats you like. Aldur's are a decent budget option if you need fire res (Spirit has none),

never used es before, i respected and im liking it, doesnt hurt having the extra protection layer for a glass cannon character

Cold sorc can play ES. Yes.
You need to adjust damage to just enough to kill monsters in 3 orb hit or blizzard/orb in 2 hit. I did this kind adjust to my cold sorc, works well for a5 Baal scenario. It will only run Baal.

Back to original need. You want Boots fit for ES.
Silkweave is cheap and good option.

If you can make Caster Boots, it will best fit for your need.
Caster Boots 5% max mana , 20 mana

4 affix
20 - 40 mana
30 FRW
--til now you beat Silkweave, you only need 2/4 hit and high roll to beat unique. But this usually cost you 500+ Boots
Poison resist 30-40
--til this, your Boots is consider good
25 MF or poison length reduced or LR(if you plan not to max es)

tri-res is not work well with es. 2 res no use, kind of bad.
