Depending on the skill you are specializing on your character,
Opalvein is a decent alternative to Stone of Jordan.

The +1 to 3 Life and +1 to 3 Mana After Each Kill is amazing for caster sustain especially on a mana hungry
Nova Sorceress.

This is also a very strong pairing with Grief users as +20% to +40% Enhanced Damage multiplies onto Grief's unusual way of adding base damage to a character.
