Which is better? Both use near exactly the same gear, skill distro and stats. Obviously the big difference is the weapons that make the build. So which is better for damage and survival?
Can be used to make Runewords:

AFAK Bear Sorc can not Teleport.
set 28000 hp monster as measurement.
Zeal Teleport,2-3 hit kill
sorc Teleport ,swap, change to bear, swap,1 hit kill
sorc bear kind of win out. but it is very complicate control.

Please be aware, all my trade is in non ladder d2r. Not warlock.
Imo, Bear Sorc is more fun and tanky than Zeal. Zeal is more consistent damage and less effort, perhaps. I vote Bear Sorc!
I used to love running a Bear Sorc in D2 LoD. Iirc, I used a Beast Zerker + Phoenix Monarch. I honestly can't recall if I used Enigma or not. If I did, I didn't Teleport as frequently as most classes due to the annoyance of having to exit bear form to tele and such.
Suggestion: Use Enigma as the +2 Skills, DR, MF, and +STR are all still beneficial until it's time to tele to a Boss.
Suggestion2: Stack FRW! Zip and zoom around the map hella quick.
Suggestion3: For Helm, perhaps look into a 2sorc/30frw/visionary for an easy massive boost to your AR.
*There might be better Rune Words now. I haven't looked too much into the new D2R ones.

I've been running this as a melee sorc. After prebuffing with Enchant etc gets close to 140k max damage. I love it.

Also, as an alternative on a budget, you do not even need Dream for this, you can go pure Enchant + fire sunder charm. Sorc can be extremely tanky then

Interesting… okay so ur trading out Guardian Angel for storm shield when it comes to blocking/defense. I like the COH bc of the resistances and LL. What do u lose when you drop the Dream shield tho? Just the extra Holy Shock lvls/ pulse damage? Or does it synergize with Zeal in some way?louner wrote: 2 hours agoI've been running this as a melee sorc. I theorycrafted that to make sure she will hit max IAS breakpoint, and have "cannot be frozen" at the same time.Scellis24 wrote: 2 hours agoInteresting… okay so ur trading out Guardian Angel for storm shield when it comes to blocking/defense. Resistances do not matter that much because she uses Energy Shield, so you will only use HP that wasn't consumed by the ES (which isn't a lot , especially with 75% res), so I don't agree with the default Maxroll build on using Guardian Angel ; p Imo that's not a perfect item for such sorc. Also Plate Mail slows her running speed. Fortitude for extra Teleport IAS or Chains of Honor (some damage reduces +str so you can invest more into energy) are much better for this imo
I also made sure she has a lot FHR so she won't be just standing there stunlocked.
You can drop Dream entirely, but then I'd go pure Enchant + Warmth + max out Energy Shield + Telekinesis + pure Energy points (for more mana) and stack as much "damage reduced by X" as possible (at least 50/50 physical/magic flat damage reduced); she will be nearly invincible then - only poison would have a slight chance to kill you ;p
I used Beast instead of Passion fo that Werebear with that build also. It's ok but the novelty wore off faster than Zeal for me
It's not the res that makes it tanky - it's "damage reduced by X" stat combined with Energy Shield. You will be generally fine running with -90% to all res, just keep a few Antidotes in the Belt
You can generally trade IAS/dmg for survivability ("damage reduced by X") up to your liking, The build is really flexible.

Thank you!! This is some of the feedback I was hoping for! Yeah the Guardian Angel made me scratch my head thinking there’s gotta be better options, but the blocking stats is what convinced me to tell myself it made sense haha. I’ll give COH a try. Would something like Ormus robes work? Or is the extra elemental damage just not worth the trade off of a complete lack of stats otherwise?louner wrote: 2 hours agoI theorycrafted that to make sure she will hit max IAS breakpoint, and have "cannot be frozen" at the same time.Scellis24 wrote: 2 hours agoInteresting… okay so ur trading out Guardian Angel for storm shield when it comes to blocking/defense. Okay, so If no dual Dream, would CoA make sense for Helm?
Also, for shield, would a faceted head hunters glory be any good? I also have a 3o Ancient Shield that has the deflecting mod on it… aka a shitty wanna be jmod lol… but it does have 3os and the extra blocking/defensive stats…
One more question… should I target adding -lite or fire to enemy res? + lite/fire skill dmg? Or something else…. Outside of damage reduction of course….
Imo start on a budget, then start upgrading until you get that good DPS/durability balance you like.Scellis24 wrote: 1 hour agoThank you!! This is some of the feedback I was hoping for! - Bulwark
- The Gladiator's Bane (with Mal or Sol socketed)
- Gerke's Sanctuary (socketed with Mal or Sol)
- Dwarf Star (minus 15 to magic damage received)
- Stone of Jordan for more mana (or another Dwarf Star)
- Flame Rift
- Passion
- Death's Hand + Death's Guard
Even pure fire with Flame Rift will give you a taste of the gameplay (minus aura pulse
Don't need to care about resistances besides poison, but just keep Antidote in Belt (the important part is most of those items have flat damage reduction instead of %), so you can see how it plays for yourself. Just max out Energy Shield + Telekinesis first (and have Memory on swap for prebuff), so your ES will soak up at least ~90% of damage (the remaining 10% will be nullified almost by that flat -X to damage), Death's Hand + Death's Guard (thsoe 2 set pieces give 30 IAS + cannot be frozen). For Boots you can use some crafted Safety Boots. Go pure Fire Mastery + Enchant + Warmth then. That will be an EXTREMELY tanky build (besides poison), and still have like 10-20k dmg/hit.
So imo better than CoA will be Circlet with "Amicae" suffix, 2 OS with 2x Mal, or 2x Sol. Or just put Mal/ Sol into CoA.
I'd treat that as a base, then you can swap stuff around for more DPS, like replacing Gladiator's Bane with Foritude or Chains of Honor, etc. It's a matter of taste in the end.
Imo just a single Dream is not enough though to have a satisfying build, so I'd go with 2 x Dream or none really. You can also check out Dragon, but it's A LOT worse than Dream.
