Description

Looking for advice.

Prepping for Hell on my first RotW char (a summoner warlock).

Lvl 77, about -60 +/- resists in Hell.

I finally got Vex and Ist and can make a Silence, but I could also go for Ko and make HotO.

Which would be best (note, limited resources)?

Extra deets:
- In both cases will equip Horazon chest/ Boots (+2 skill, +15-25 resists, CBF)
- I have a P8 nightmare Lister non-cursed
- 20 goat, 20 dem mast, 20 Death Mark, almost 20 Bind Demon, 1 Lethargy
-After above, have +6 skill from Shako, horazon chest, blue ammy and meaured Wrath

Would HotO be the better investment for the +1 extra skill and Oak Sage? Or would Silence be better for the higher res and MF.

Note: not currently seeking FCR break b/c waiting on Enigma for Teleport.

Thanks!!

Both are good options ... if you intend to switch so a Echoing Strike warlock later on i would go for the Silence in an elite base .... (non ethernal since the next patch echoning strike weapons will loose durability) if you like to play outher chars aswell i would go for the hoto since you can use it for a bunch of outher chars also ...

But that is my personal opinion witch is probably wrong

I'm not sure which would be better for you. I think the Key differences are the FCR and higher skill point on the HOTO vs. the higher enhanced damage on the Silence.

Your ES attack speed is based on FCR, not IAS, so with or without Enigma it is important.

I would save the Vex and Ist and just use Insight. It has FCR, high enhanced damage, Critical Strike, and Meditation aura for way cheaper.

eh poor reading comprehension on my part, I didn't see this is a summoner build. I'd still be wary of investing the Vex and Ist into Silence, versus just running Insight, if Vex and Ist was something you had to save up for.

I've got Silence in a 14ed Hydra Bow you can have for free. Then you can make hoto worry free.

If you are offering my asking for price, please feel free to add me on bnet or xbox, you do not need to wait for my confirmation.

That's very nice! I only have base Dex, so no way I could ever equip that, and I enjoy making things after grinding.

I got some of the resista covered with an annhiliis and the Horazon chest/ Boots. I am in the positive on all of them bow, so I think HoTo is the way to go until Obsession!

Thanks!

Thanks! It is something I saved for. But I'm not as horribly bad off with resists as I thought (not negative after the Annihilus). I might Larzuk the book and add a P Diamond., and with a good roll on the HoTo would be in good shape. I understand the Oak Spirit charges help the summons also, and on +skills seems to affect their damage.

Good point, but my next character will be a Rabies wolf for the nostalgia. HotO seems like it will carry me till Obsession. Annihilus changed the calculus quite a bit (got an 18% within budget!).

No worries, I didn't even think about the dex requirements lol

HOTO is a much better use of the runes in general because so many chars can benefit from it, so I would do that, personally. The danger with making Silence is that it could become obsolete for you quite quickly.

Thanks, I came to pretty much the same conclusion. I am using my Ist to trade for a low Mara, so with a bad roll on HotO, I would still be at approx 50/50/50/65 resists in Hell. That also puts me at +11 skills before I find any skillers! Summons, I understand, aren't too bothered by changes in difficulty. Looking forward to getting a Cursed Hell Lister one day!

Next in line: Bramble for my Act 1 Edge merc! I'm curious to see what stacked Thorns does in Hell.

Yeah, Hoto is the way to go.
You can get res from Boots and charms.
13~14 all res grand charms don't cost much and will solve your problem.

Playing HC SSF right now.

Hell completed: Sorc, Druid, Paladin, Ama, Assa, Necro, Barb
Iron Man (Paladin): Nightmare A1
