Defender's Fire Jewel Bug

Anyone have any ideas why socketing this low rolled

Defender's Fire jewel (level req of 75) into this meme build, ups the items level req to 82? This sorc is level 80 and could use the

Demon Machine prior to the jewel. Can no longer use the weap....odd.
This is a bug or a weird affix combination issue?

I see similar things in craft ring, lv 25
different affix , require lv change.

I know crafting can get some weird level reqs with certain affixes. But I was unaware socketing a jewel into a unique could result in the same weirdness.

It is the same like when you respec. It stays equipped, but you can not use it. If you put it down, you can not equip it again. Let's do some

Haahaa I get that for str and dex. But a level? How did a lvl75 jewel increase it to 82

But I think I'm obsessing over something fairly minor :p

The weird lvl requirements from affixes usually come from charges, which have different lvl requirements based on character types.

For this item, for whatever weird reason, it might be related the CTC

Blaze or exploding

Arrows.

But this is a sorc, right? So

Blaze shouldn't change anything. Does it go back to lvl 75 when you look at it with an Amazon?

I feel like all these weird interactions in D2 are just a way of helping us all stay mentally active so we stave off dementia. Because let's be honest, we WILL still be playing this when we're 75 years old.

Yes this char is a sorc. I haven't checked with a zon, but

Blaze is a sorc Oskill so that shouldn't affect anything while looking at it with a sorc.

Also, the answer the question: the

Demon Machine has been upped, so it has +7 to its clvl requirement. I would have expected the game to compare the clvl requirement of an upped

Demon Machine (70, if I'm not mistaken, as that would be the standard 63 of a

Demon Crossbow plus 7 more) to the clvl requirement of the jewel and simply use the higher value. Apparently, however, the game's logic is to add 7 to the clvl 75 requirement imparted by the jewel for a total of 82.

Edit: come to think of it, I feel like I vaguely remember this being a known interaction that would come up in the context of socketing a

One idea was

Blaze, hence -> die
The other one is exploding

Arrows, hence -> Ama

But we got our answer. It is due to upping.
